So what do we know about the multiple player suspensions?

I’ve heard since the Nick Spoon deal that it involved multiple sports and double digit football players. I’ve been hearing many players will serve 1-4 game suspensions including a few starters and key backups.

What say ye connected folks?

That certainly seems to be the rumor. Gaye is the only player I consistently hear named in connection with that.

I do not expect Keytaon to play in the opener, but for unrelated matters.

I expect some news on this front very soon. Not names, necessarily, but some movement.

I’ve heard 5 players will be suspended. Mostly backups, a few starters. Not sure the number of
Games. Hopefully just a few

This sounds about right with respect to the Witherspoon event. There will be a

few more less severe suspensions on the usual problems that require less games. As I said on the earlier thread, if our depth is as good as advertised we should be okay.

I will also repeat that this could have gotten out of control with the NCAA but from what I hear it's not going to because of the way we handled it. Contrast this to Oxford and the way they handle their problems.

I'm just amazed that one tutor (unless it was systemic) was apparently allowed to have this kind of impact on our entire athletic department. Very disappointed in the University's program of oversight and accountability on this. Can't believe that our basketball season from last year was impacted the way it was and now we are apparently about to see the same thing from the same issue with the football team. Very uncalled for had the appropriate people been doing their proper due diligence.

I do not believe it was systemic and from what I hear it was a pretty odd

situation.

Tutor 101: Check game schedule against test schedule. Note overlap.

More than likely there was an internal investigation after the colossal 17 up with the game/test overlap to determine who else Miss Braintrust was "tutoring." That investigation probably went back a ways.

5 players
mostly backups = 3 or 4
a few starters = I always assume "a few" means at least 3 or 4 (certainly more than "a couple")

5 < (3 or 4) + (3 or 4)

Yep, I think there’s an obvious reason as to why the university has been so tight lipped about all of this, and the implication has always been that there was more to the Nick situation than just Nick

I wonder if it’s similar to the Missouri Tutor situation? Did they do an internal investigation? I hope they don’t punish us like they did Missouri.

I suspect it probably is. The difference is, Missouri was already on probation in basketball for a completely different issue, so this was their 2nd significant case in just a few years.

Luckily, we've been out of the repeat offenders window for about 14 months if my math is right.

I have a questions?
Why are names thrown around, number of games suspended thrown around, but no one clearly states why or what for, these supposed players would be suspended?
If you know, put your nuts out there and tell us....
For ***** sake you basically have. Why the dance around it. stupid. Spit it out or don’t say anything.
I love the “insiders”

Because if they're vague enough, they can claim to be right after the fact. If they gave specifics, everyone would know they're talking out of their ***.

I have zero actual knowledge of any of this, but from what I can tell it looks like we have an issue with a rogue tutor similar to what happened in basketball season. I'll be surprised if we don't have a few players suspended for a few games. My guess is, that's as far as it will go and we can put it behind us then.

I think, at this point, we can probably discern that a few players will be suspended a few games. It won't be 8 games like douche34 says, and it won't be nothing like Rosey says. Always in the middle.

I mean, I've taken online classes recently, and you could conceivably submit a test using your smartphone. There's even an app.
Also, sometimes if it's a really large file, it can take a while to upload. Like you click "submit" and run out of the house to your basketball game, file finishes uploading and time stamps an hour later.
I'm just saying.

It’s like his 5th school in 5 years. At some point you just gotta realize the location ain’t the problem
