the next 2-3 weeks ?
I think we are the Top choice for either Texas, Armed Forces
Or Birmingham- just bc of proximity.

The toilet bowl is all we deserve with a 3 and 7 record

  • 2019 - Music City Bowl after 3 SEC wins
  • 2016 - St. Petersburg Bowl after 3 SEC wins
  • 2013 - Liberty Bowl after 3 SEC wins
  • 2011 - Music City Bowl after 2 SEC wins

My take is we certainly don't deserve a bowl bid, but if we get one we take it. The extra practice time is worth it for sure.

The Bowls are going to be filled with teams that have losing records. We need the practice time so in this year I have no issues with it. The last time we went to Tampa we had a losing record under Mullen

Non of these teams really deserved a bowl game in my opinion. 6-6 in the regular season is very mediocre. Having a losing record in 2016 and nearly losing the bowl game is downright embarrassing.

I don’t want to hear the excuse that this years team played an all SEC schedule. They lost to Arky, UK, Texas A&M, OM, and Auburn. All those games were very winnable. Just win about 3 games out of those, and this team would deserve a bowl at 6-4. They didn’t though and 3-7 isn’t good enough for a bowl. I would love for the bowls to get cut significantly. Maybe make 8 wins a requirement in a normal season. It wouldn’t happen because of money, but it would be better for the game. It’s not hard for teams to get 6 wins especially with all the cupcakes you can schedule these days.

look this team played a lot better towards the end of the season. That doesn’t mean they should be bowl eligible.

This is the way! We played a ten game SEC schedule with a depleted roster.

We could have lost to LSU... we might have beaten Arkie, OM, and Aubie... but we didn't.

You really know very little about NCAAFB. Its about getting more practices. Not about playing directional tech. Secondly, absolutely no one will make you watch the game. Take a lap.

Who made you bowl king? I'm glad it isn't up to you. SEC revenues would be in the dumpster and our program would be hurting. Guess you need to join the boosters and help land some 5 star players.

Look at it another way. We only played 10 games, all SEC, when we normally play 12, 8 SEC, 4 non-con. So consider the Bowl as a non-con game against a comparable opponent.

I think we should turn the game down on principle. Tell them we just are not good enough. Maybe even penalize ourselves 2 schollies cause we are so bad****

Armed Forces Bowl in Fort Worth is the buzz this morning. But I think Birmingham is still possible too.

With all the opt outs we should play in two bowls. One later this week and then another on/after New Year's.

I want the bowl with the easiest win. Need another W to end the season. Preferably a weak defensive team so we can score a lot of points. Especially this year since fans can't go to the game.

Not every year. When we're good I want the best bowl, like in 2014, even if we lost. Florida bowls are always good for fan trips.

I was worried when they announced State was playing Iowa in the Outback. Of the possible Outback opponents Iowa was the worst matchup for us.

People tend to forget the bowl opponent or even the level of the bowl. What do people remember? Wins. And season wins.

Back in the 90s OM was racking up Independence Bowl wins and State was playing tougher opponents in bowls and losing. No one remembers that. Just bowl wins and season wins.

A lot of these bowls have become nothing but a participation trophy at this point. I rather see less bowls but more meaningful games between good and great teams. Not a 5-7 Mississippi State nearly lose to Miami of Ohio. Common.

I’ll gladly watch the bowl game this year. I’ll never say this particular team deserved it. They just don’t based on performance this season. Mid season half the fanbase wanted a first year coach fired based on performance. Now all of a sudden they are good enough for a bowl?

Good Lord some of you people. This season was fricked from the start. Taking a bowl this year is getting a chance to play an OOC game since they were all cancelled. It's a chance for more practice since spring practice was cancelled. In case you haven't noticed this year is nowhere near anything we've ever seen. Let's play a bowl game and get better.

There’s not many more practices to be had. And certainly not a pseudo extra spring practice like usual. If the players want to play, and it seems they do, we should absolutely play. But it’s been a long year for them in a lot of ways, so I can definitely understand the teams that are opting out of a bowl.

That’s not how I’m looking at it. Do we truly deserve it?

The toilet bowl is all we deserve with a 3 and 7 record
Do you understand that all schedules are not created equal? Until there is a universally defined system for ranking resumes equally for bowl selection, you take what you can get.

You seem to think that the bowl eligibility criteria, and whether or not a team is deserving, are the same things. That is small minded.

We should want what’s best for MSU within the current reality. If you don’t, then you’re a problem.

That argument is out the window with Ohio State making the play off after only playing six games.

Someone wanna tell Hailstate19 that 2020 isn’t exactly a normal season?

See we had this virus that has been around since March but actually even longer. It made everything in the world change. Even college football. So yeah a 3-7 team going to a bowl is completely normal this year. And anyone with an ounce of maroon in their blood would love to see these freshmen get another chance to grow in live game action.

With this travesty of final 4 with two blowout
Semis there will be a groundswell for
Expansion to 6 teams.

8 is the number. Nobody really deserves a bye. If schools in tougher conferences want a chance without having to beat a Bama-like school, let them join another conference and take less conference money for an easier path.

10 of the 14 in the SEC have more money and better facilities because of a few schools’ football programs.

In the Southeastern Conference it just means more....payout for being Bama’s b!tch.

If not for teams with losing records going to bowl games, there wouldn’t be enough teams to play in bowl games with all the teams that have opted out of playing in bowls. Bowl games are scrambling to find anyone to play in their games, and the NCAA has said records don’t matter this year when it comes to bowls. Hell, Vandy could play in one at 0-9.

Actually, yeah they do deserve a bye. Being 1 or 2 is hard to do.

6 is the number you want.

I’d like to see an 11 game season return too.

Agreed to disagree.

Bama/Clemson’s toughest path to 1/2 each year is avoiding injuries.

Now you’re saying make it even tougher for anyone to dethrone Saban/Swinney?
