So turns out bubba's noose is a door pull

The president of Nascar didn't call the FBI or announce that a noose had been found until he had looked into it. He said he looked at every other stall and none of the pull ropes resembled a noose. You think Steve Phelps really wanted to announce that a noose had been found?

With all the hate directed towards Wallace, no wonder he's pissed at being accused of fabricating a story when he had nothing to do with it.

So what about all of the undue hate directed at other teams, the organization, and basically the State of Alabama? Who turns out didn’t do a thing but get blamed and shamed? And pretty much are still being blamed and shamed by the now non-victim after an obvious explanation and concurrence of the explanation by the DOJ?

Just suck it up and take the lumps? Apologize for doing nothing? Get used to being shamed just for showing up?

Bubba was not directing hate at anyone. He was relieved that no hate crime had been directed at him.

Nobody is hating on the other teams now that it was determined to have been there for months, but there are plenty attacking Bubba.

He's understandably pissed when accused of fabricating the story.

Wallace was in a great position to man-up and gain the respect of lots of people by apologizing for all the confusion that this has caused. Instead of being a man about it he chose to try to be a victim of a "crime" that never happened. He basically valued his "victim-hood" status over that of being respected as a man. I had never really heard of Wallace but now think he's just another generic black guy trying to cash in on his race card.

And the “noose” word remains used by NASCAR and FBI ONLY because that’s how it was originally reported by the Wallace team and the word they used. Not because it matches reality or meets any kind of technical definition. Nobody in 2020 is going to tell the offended victim class that their descriptive words are not correct or totally inaccurate. Come on people, the connect the dots on this is not that hard.

FFS, can somebody post a picture of this thing (or some news agency release an image as to how / where it was found) to help put some kind perspective to this thing? Everybody has cell phones and there is 0% chance that whoever first reported it didn’t take a picture of it before they did anything else. This entire dumbass game of mental Pictionary is making my head hurt.

Oh not just talking about hate from him. The media, including some really self-righteous 17ers, stood and began their sermons from the usual script. Hate, bigotry, racism, and the South was covered again and again. Threats were leveled and examples were about to have to be made.

Oh but then, the now non-victim got on national TV and called people that doubted the validity of the claim as “small minded”. And AFTER the verification of the non hate crime... there was a doubling down last night on a cable network during an interview.

The attack on him is that he went forth with the claim as factual when it was still under investigation and still is trying to “yea.. but” the situation.

it’s obvious there has been zero ill will here... but there is still a victim. There always has to be a victim. And where there is a victim... there has to be perpetrators.

It was found on the garage pull. And then was cut down in the investigation. Not a chance a day-of picture is released. That information will be locked down tighter than the nuclear launch codes. It will make a lot of people look really dumb and negligent at best. And corrupt at worst. But there are pictures of what it looked like months ago floating around. It was a loop knot on a garage door rope.

Is Richard Petty part of the conspiracy? Is this press release part of it?

"On Sunday, June 21, members of Richard Petty Motorsports discovered a rope tied in the fashion of a noose in the garage stall assigned to the team at the Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway. In accordance with established protocols, our team member notified the crew chief who notified NASCAR of the presence of the item in the garage stall. NASCAR leadership determined the course of action going forward with an immediate investigation into the item and its possible origins. In the early stages of the investigation, NASCAR's Steve Phelps notified Darrell "Bubba" Wallace Jr., of the information gathered and the presence of the item in the garage stall of his team.
"As a result of further investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), it was found that the item was not directed towards Wallace or members of the team. No member of Richard Petty Motorsports nor Wallace had any involvement with the presence of the rope."

Google a pic of a Midshipman’s Hitch. That is exactly what it looks like. I have a couple of ropes with it in the boat to use as mooring lines.

This is supposedly the "noose" in question from November 2019.

Apparently we may literally have to ban creating any type of loop with a rope. This will substantially reduce the number of uses for ropes. I hope rope salesmen are prepared for the downturn. I fear that the Boy Scouts may need a new curriculum as well.

First off, the sources on this thing are completely nonsensical / unreliable. Secondly, all the info out there that’s been published is that Wallace wasn’t ever even there when the alleged noose was found or removed, so he apparently never even saw it. So even if the whole thing is a hoax, unless he put it there himself (and camera footage should show that pretty clearly if it happened), I’d say that any “Bubba Smollet” talk would be premature.

If this is the case, why was Bubba on that idiot Don Lemon's show last night doubling down on this? "It was a straight up noose" is his comment. So, all this "he never saw it" stuff reeks of ********, like the whole episode does.

In Bubba's defense, he never saw it nor did he report it himself. Drivers arent' the garage due to COVID social distancing. It was actually reported by a crew member. Still, it made everyone look completely foolish. Including all of NASCAR.

Are you seriously saying he was out on multiple "news" organizations saying it WAS a noose without having seen it? Then he needs to be banned for that himself.

Yes. That is it. I find it unlikely it was modified since that picture, but nobody can say that with certainty, but for those who saw the way it was over the weekend. And like i said, that picture and rope is going to be totally locked down. Because it will show exactly what you see in that picture. Anybody with any "shop" sense knows what that is. It's a loop knot so that the garage door can be managed easier. It's easier to grab. And much more likely to prevent your hand from slipping and running down the rope and rope-burn your hand while operating it. And this is a LOOP knot! It's not a "noose." A noose is a SLIP knot that will slide the knot to cinch down on a pressure-point. You would NOT want a slip knot for this system because it would make letting go of the rope and getting your hand out of it much more difficult. And you would then have to reset the knot every time you used the rope. This is BASIC knowledge that anybody with any familiarity with shops and garage doors would understand. Even if it was a slip-knot, the first reaction would've had to be that somebody just made a poor choice of knot, and not some definitive racist plot. In today's climate, you can even understand NASCAR wanting to employ extra precaution and CONSIDER malicious intent. But the fact that NASCAR didn't even raise the possibility in their statements that this could be some type of incidental non-nefarious situation raises significant questions to their intent to mislead and use this situation to boost their ratings.

Richard Petty's probably not. But Richard Petty motor-sports is Bubba Wallace's race team. That's his outfit. When you see "members of Richard Petty Motorsports", this is talking about Bubba Wallace's race team specifically. The guys who prep and service his race cars.

Is Richard Petty part of the conspiracy? Is this press release part of it?

No... he was pissed that people questioned him and the event based on soooo many fake things that have happened.

All he had to do is say "look.. my team found this, they reported it. We fully believe in the process and law and if somebody did something like this.... they will find out. But let's all wait for the investigation"

AND he would have gained the respect from all. That's not what he did. He jumped up, went on a media blitz in a time that is trying Americans. HE KNEW and KNOWS right from wrong. He is a grown man. What he did was despicable.

BTW... when you go to the media and run a media blitz about the racism towards you BEFORE YOU KNOW THE FACTS... THAT IS FABRICATING THE STORY...

I can see the media getting roasted. Maybe Steve Phelps, because if anyone jumped the gun it was him. I think he was scared sh!tless that it was new and directed at Bubba. Because that probably would mean it was some teams' crew member. That would have been a bad look for Nascar.

Hating Bubba for this whole noose thing is misplaced. I haven't seen any evidence that he was involved in any fabrication or even involved in reporting the issue.

"The FBI report concludes, and photographic evidence confirms, that the garage door pull rope fashioned like a noose had been positioned there since as early as last fall," NASCAR said in its statement. "This was obviously well before the 43 team's arrival and garage assignment."

OK, you're splitting hairs. You found a joint statement released. NASCAR said the above after having read the actual FBI report. "Like a noose" is not calling it a noose, certainly not in the context of this incident. I'd say it is pretty obvious the statement meant "alleged noose", just nobody imagined it would be important to add "alleged". That, or they did not get the memo so many of you leftists put out after Coach Leach's "cartoon incident", that you can't suggest or use the word, "noose", or even reference a drawing of one anymore because it signifies lynching and offends some.

I'm not "Splitting hairs". They called it a noose. If they meant "alleged noose" they would have used the words "alleged noose" They did not. I assume it was a wrapped knot that did not slip.

They found a rope tied to the garage door that looked like what people in Alabama that flew the Confederate flag used to hang black people with in a recently as March 21, 1981....

They investigated. They found it was not intended towards the black driver in NASCAR.

I'm glad it was not intended as a hate symbol.
