According to a news story by WKYT Dave Baker will no longer be doing the UK pregame shows because of JMI.

JMI worried maybe we didn’t hate them enough already.
Buzz can't take Pope's brand of basketball anymore. I don't blame him.
Mills is the worst UK announcer since announcing sports became a thing.. Can't stand him..
I was getting ready to come here and post this after 37 years of doing UK sports what a damn shame.... JMI is something else....

Dave has been a UK staple forever, but did anyone else feel like he tried to change his persona after Matt Jones left, to be more like Matt Jones (fiery, argumentative, etc.)?
Regardless of anyone's opinion of the guy, it should be concerning that JMI has that kind of reach with power.

I was listening to the game on my way home from work last night. Goose needs to watch it if this is the reason Buzz is gone. The radio guys have to be measured in their comments but it was clear Goose is very frustrated. He said that he can’t understand how these players don’t get it that you gotta bring the effort every single game.
Yeah dont get this one at all. Cant imagine a better host and character that Dave to do this. Wont be the same. Guess they will be moving in the new guy that has been doing halftime and postgame wrap ups as he's been sitting in on pregame too I presume to work blend him in. He does a good job of what he does but not close the personality needed that Buzz brings to that job.
So Mills got Dave Canned? Or did Dave just refuse to spew everything is fine propaganda?

This is some bull ****. Buzz is a part of BBN and has earned his stripes more than almost anyone FFS. **** JMI.
No emotions about this one way or the other. Wish him well.
I know that I’m old school but really don’t like the direction of college basketball and in particularly Kentucky basketball. I like Pope and I hope he succeeds. I don’t think the current AD and JMI will be conducive for Kentucky to ever be a title contender again like traditionally they have been every year.
JMI can drop dead. I rarely ever say that but they are RUINING Kentucky athletics.

I mean welcome to showbiz. Nobody wants to sit and watch two people break their arms patting each other on the back and agreeing all show. You have to play devils advocate and stir some discussion.
Mills is awful on the radio. Felt that way since he had his own show. I will miss Dave Baker apart of the basketball coverage, though the chemistry was awful between the two. Baker & Mills constantly playing that gotcha game trying to trip each other up on things they've said to later throw in their face. Constantly correcting one another. Mills is a know it all. My Grandfather had a saying for people like him, "Can't out **** him, got a turd in each pocket". Mills is no doubt knowledgeable but some of his takes are for the sole purpose of taking the contrarian point of view to the callers or Buzz even when he gets called for how absurd they are. Buzz wasn’t afraid to back Mills into a corner with his own words. The finger-wagging toward the fanbase was tiresome.
I didn’t see a reason but I’d have to guess it’s the way he and Mills mesh. Which is not at all. They brought Kappas in and that has helped some but it’s still not working between them. Mills needs to be shown the door. He’s awful and has ruined the show.
Man this pisses me off so bad. Buzz and Goose are my game day tradition. I really can't believe they are ******* with the pregame like this.

To be fair to JMI they had to do something. Cameron's per diem is almost bankrupting them but hes untouchable.
