So is Green gone then?

I agree with that, but sometimes players have to be talked into coming back. It's just the way it is, it doesn't always mean they are weak. Quade Green was by far the toughest player on our roster imo. He refused to go away even when it wasnt working. He didn't talk back and kept fighting. He's a freshman, who could be a solid 3 year player. If you only knew the players that have wore a Kentucky uniform that had previously contemplated transferring. Some of our best, I assure you.

1. Quade was our worst defensive player...maybe Nick Richards could be the only be in the conversation.
2. SGA was tough kid...Vanderbilt was injured a ton but on the floor he stuck his nose in every way possible.

I'm hoping Quade stays as I am tired of the constant 'young' crap and everybody knew Quade was a multi year player and no reason for either party to change plans at this point. But Quade is not a huge loss in talent or intangibles if he leaves IMO.

Yea, but that's just for Cals tenure. This is a situation unique to him, other programs aren't losing guys at this rate. We are entering a situation where every player on our roster contemplates leaving. Name another program where this happens?

I think it needs to be contained a l lot better than it is now, seems like it's a trend that's getting worse.

That's what I'm saying, this situation is only unique to Kentucky and Duke because they are the two glamour programs right now.

Agreed, I'd like Green to stay just like I wanted Charles Matthews to stay, but it doesn't hurt the program if he left just like Matthews departure didn't hurt.

It's not as simple as "he's a ***** be done with him". He probably doesn't feel valued, and it's these kinds of things that do hurt us on the recruiting trail with certain players. It's easy to tell a kid that Kentucky will chew you up and spit you out. Not that I personally believe that, but it's an easy pitch. And it has worked, I'd bet on that.

Talking is fine but in the end I'd error on the side of a rep on the trail as harsh but honest than a phony who will tell you what you want to hear to keep you on a string over time.

Even if I was willing to go with the bill of goods technique, I sure wouldn't consider for a moment of recruiting in a way to appease the kid or support the jive and the truth would win out again unless you've got a media willing to spin for the phony routine.

All he can be told is if he he is the best point guard or maybe even if he can be the best point guard in a season then he is the guy but other than the best coaching, providing the best facilities, tools, and competition.
What happens after that is on the players but he is one of the best of the best or he wouldn't be here and I expect him to prove it moving forward but no I'm not going to fix the roster to make sure he is.

If that isn't going to cut it then I do have to question if the make up is actually there to be the kind of enhanced Anthony Epps type guy some are all in on being there.

the thing I don't get, 1 month ago everyone was saying Dukes class is irrelevant because they're too young and we will be returning guys like Green and others. Suddenly we reversed this when we had a few top 20 commits and transfers (and transfer rumors) happened.. Now people are acting like we've signed the top 2 players in the class. That's ridiculous. And some in this thread are good dudes but totally sunshine pumpers. It is what it is.

If Green wants to go fine, but these guys coming in better be better than him and people will be watching and waiting to see if they are.
Apparently Green is afraid of them, that’s not a good sign he’s the answer either.
