And I throw a fantastic 80 yard old touchdown. My guy caught it in the air and was way in bounds, but as he came down, his back hit the defender and he rolled out of bounds with no part of his body hitting in bounds. Called incomplete. I take it that was the right call even though he clearly had possession in bounds on top of the defender?

By my understanding of the current rules, where defenders are totally allowed to push an airborne reciever out of bounds before he can get his feet down, that the call is correct as basically the defender pushed him out.

I wouldn't assume these games are correct though. I once had Javy Lopez hit a screaming double down the line with the bases loaded. The ball hit foul just past the plate, but went fair past 3rd by at least a foot. Called a foul ball. Horseshit call.

I'm still trying to master my Pong game. I'm pretty good on the mid sized paddles.

It’s really no different than when you see a runner get pulled down but lands on a defender and is able to get up and continue to pick up yards as he was never down. By that same mindset your player was never down inbounds. And as another poster stated I don’t know how much the actual letter of the rule factors into Madden, I hadn’t owned a Madden since 06ish, but if he simply caught it then landed on a defender before being OOB then it could have been ruled incomplete because he didn’t make a football move.

On a related note, this is more of a strategic question than a theological question, but do you as a Protestant preacher, believe in the Hail Mary?

Did you drop your flag and request a review. Those zebras have been known to blow a call here or there.
