Can you crush a crappy team bt 32 points and lose to them later in the season? No one is consistent. Something is seriously wrong with this team...becoming a yearly thing for so called huggs heroes.

I'd guess the other coach watched the game film and was more prepared. Same principle with halftime. We get outplayed in the 2nd half 99% of the time.

To me, the game swung on two things.

Huggins wholesale substitution at the 3:30 mark with a 10 point lead, which was erased to a 2 point lead and the momentum right before half-time.

8-15 vs. 13-16. This is the free throw stat for the game. Unfortunately for us, we aren't a good shooting team even when nobody is guarding us. This stat has cost us more than one game over Huggins' career. It certainly won't be the last.

He claims to play whoever is playing better. ********. I've watched McCabe score 6 points get 2 assists a steal good defense and 2 and a half minutes into the half, OUT. mcbride get drove on repeatedly go 0-4 no offensive rhythm and he doesnt say a word to him and he plays 12 minutes straight. I watched a game earlier in the year the announcers commended a coach and said a coach can really improve kids' confidence, the other said or destroy it. My immediate thoughts was current day Huggins. Nothing positive. Favoritism. Different sets of rules for minutes depending on the player. Tons of negativity. Afraid to shoot or get pulled. I told you people in mexico Matthew's seemed different. A prisoner, unhappy. Look at his play before and after. He got a technical one game, got attacked and has never been the same. Huggs is saying one thing but doing another. Not every player is Kenyon Martin and need that much weight lifting to be good, players are different, and dead legs is not a good thing in this sport

Good points. Actually tired of hearing huggs refer to kenyon Martin and the Cincinnati teams. I have been a huge huggs supporter but have come to believe he has become a problem.

The time is definitely running out for Huggins. Whether or not you think the game has passed him by, he has been at WVU for 13 seasons, will be 67 years old next year, and isn't the spitting image of health. So no matter your opinion on coaching, he has more WVU seasons behind than in front and these freshmen may very well be the last class he tries to take through 4 years. I know WVU will likely never have a team with the inside track to a championship ala 'Nova 2 years ago or other blue bloods. However perhaps a team that is good enough win it all if they get hot at the right time and catch some luck could be put forth by WVU like the 2009-2010 team. At least one more of those would be nice which is why I keep looking for a back court improvement as this may be the last class he will have to try to develop a JC from clueless freshman to go-to senior.

Miles McBride will be that player.

I suspect he coaches 2 to 3 more years before hanging it up. Heck he might even retire after this year if he makes the HOF.

Hopefully he does while we still have Oscar and Culver or Cotrill (sp?). Been a while since WVU could play scrappy in the paint and on the boards while having some decent guard play.

The last good guards we had were Miles and Carter. These guards are still young and play like it. Just as Miles and Carter did as Freshman and Sophomores. Who can forget Miles prediction of Kentucky will be 36-1 after the weekend. Talk about young and dumb.
