I feel we are truly screwed. AM is just not it but he's the best we got . We have no running game or receivers to help out. If we put Smothers in we probably ruin the kid. We're the definition of instanty with no real options. I just can't watch this **** anymore, I walked away at halftime and didn't look back. It's freaking bleak bros.

Nothing is going to change. The coaches will watch film and make minor adjustments, but what you see today is the team we will have the entire season.

Frost should have substituted frequently. A loss is a loss. Get the scrubs reps, regardless. You never know what cream will rise. Gotta make competition. What we have sucks.

Yes you bench him. My worry is that the comeback effort (as sad as it is to admit) added another 3 games of him until it happens.

The only thing that causes Adrian to be good is when somebody else is breathing down his neck to take the starting job away from him. That seems to get him to concentrate more of the time. The key in the case of Adrian's career IMO would have been designating dual starting quarterbacks and pulling the guy from the game without hesitation who wasn't performing.

We're in route to another losing season so we might as well get Smothers some snaps. I'm AM is gone after this year anyhow.

IMO, as soon as this team gets down by 2 TDs they should bring in a different qb. Adrian has proven over and over that he can not bring us back when we are down by that amount so why keep trying? We're gonna lose no matter what.

We're getting late in the second half and we're down 21. We pull it within 14, the time is getting short. Coach is like, can you do it son? Player replies yes coach you can come on me. Clock continues to run and the team pulls the deficit to eight. By now time is precariously low. Too little too late. He pulled the rug out from under once again.

Nebraska had a chance to win. I don't think you throw in the scrubs in a situation like that. There will plenty of time to get the scout team guys some experience during the final three quarters of the Oklahoma game.

I personally found it much more horrible to watch Luke last year than AM. There are no good answers

Adrian is only good when the other team gets a healthy lead and starts playing Prevent Defense.

Depends on how are backups look, but they won’t do it after one game this year. Although no better time to break a new guy in with a few easier opponents. We know what we have with AM, and we have a losing QB.

And play who? He was the only bright spot or dim spot might be more accurate. With the lack of talent who could even survive back there? We have to be one of the slowest teams in D1.

Christ. I can't believe that people actually think that AM is all that's wrong with this program.
It's mostly him. He hands the ball off okay, but the other teams don't respect him throwing downfield. They're going to contain him and make him throw bad passes. The announcers were commenting that you have to push the ball downfield. The defense isn't going to respect this 10 yards and under crap for long. He doesn't read defense well and he doesn't hit receivers in stride very often. He misses a ton of open guys. He's very basic skill-wise. Defending Adrian Martinez is not difficult and that hamstrings the whole offense

All I can say is whoever the new coach is this time next season better bring with them a QB who can play day 1 because I have no faith at all in any of the QBs on the roster right now.

Who would we replace him with? Smothers and Haarberg aren't ready yet, I can guarantee you that. Like it or not, AM is our best option.

Missing Liewer wide open in the endzone was all I really needed to see. He's the same qb he's always been.

Yeah yeah. The only qb that has been "ready" by some standards is the only guy they've given snaps to for 4 years. 6 other guys weren't ready, but somehow AM was?

Yeah that's pretty messed up, and the guys have left because they didn't believe they were getting a fair shot.

If you're a starting P5 receiver, you need to catch that. It hit his hands, no real excuse why he couldn't bring that down.

Yes. We’ve all seen enough. What I want to know is; why we didn’t look for a QB in the portal? Looks like that position group is on real bad shape.

The defense played well IMO.
They need to limit mistakes on offense. Martinez can’t make the throw. It’s time to leave him. He can’t make it work.
Put in Smothers and run. And figure it out or don’t. He’s going to get run out of town

That ball should have been right in his numbers, not one that he had to dive for. No more excuses for Amart.

Thats not true. AM was benched last season for more than one game in favor of a freshman QB.

Unfortunately, he was also not ready to play QB.

Like seemingly everyone on the roster.

Weird that Bielema had two QB's ready to play today. He must have handpicked them and brought them through his system for 5 or 6 years in order to get them ready for a game.

Martinez has won 8 games against P5 opponents in 3+ years, 2 against G5 teams, and his personal Mona Lisa victory over Bethune Cookman where he accounted for 2 tds.

He's not a good leader or qb.

The sample size is large enough. I fight back the gag reflex every time I see his 71% completion percentage. It's all fantasy.

I just don't get the whole "not ready" argument. Yes, Luke was not ready, but he wasn't really a quarterback. There are thousands of high schools across this country who trot out quarterbacks every Friday who are more "ready" than Adrian Martinez.

Our local quarterback, Glenwood, IA's Brock Sell was 9-13 (69%) last night for 62 yards. He rushed for 78 yards on 7 carries. He completed passes when needed to keep pressure off the running game (34 rushes for 260 yards). He had one INT that I think was a Hail Mary right before half. No fumbles. He did what was needed to win the game 38-0, and no one in Glenwood had any doubt he would manage the game. Flashy? No. Going to D-1? Maybe. But he doesn't turn the ball over, he makes good zone reads, he throws a good ball off his front foot. and his teammates believe in him. He makes them all better.

I don't understand why Nebraska can't get a QB to hand the ball off, make a few basic throws, inspire confidence in those around him, and not personally lose the game each week. If Masker, Smothers and Haarberg aren't those types of guys, then Nebraska has truly failed in QB recruiting.

Whoa, wait a minute? FRONT FOOT? You are supposed to throw the ball of your FRONT foot? Ummm just asking for a friend. Let's just call him V.
