So did Cumbest even make the trip?...

I think Spivey was the only former TE to show up in the participation report. It will be interesting to see if any of those guys find a spot in this offense. You would think as much as TEs are used in the NFL passing offenses today, Leach would be looking for one to work into his offense. I can understand he's not going to recruit one - but since they're already on the roster... guess we'll see.

I thought we would use them just because that's where we have talent. But our wide receivers looked at least average on Saturday, and some would even say better than average, so I guess it makes sense that we would keep going 4 wide.

Hope not, we need football to continue to pay for his scholarship. Dude was recruited as a LB and was a vicious hitter in high school, why hasn't he been moved over there where we need people?

He's sort of said in the past that he'd use a tight end if he could find one that's fast & can catch - basically an oversized WR. Leach isn't going to put someone on the field that's not a threat to catch a pass. I would think we're more likely to see them in the redzone where they can use their size as an advantage. With the way our WR were getting YAC and separation on Saturday, there was really no reason to use them.

Every day that he is practicing football, he’s falling behind in baseball. He’s not going to roll up in the spring and be competitive in the SEC.

As long as football is paying his full tuition, he will be a football player first.

Who was recruited as an LB? Cumbest? He did not even play defense in HS and was recruited solely as a TE

No, I’m talking about Cumbest never having played defense before. I was replying to a guy who may have been thinking about Jett

Cumbest missed some time early for a COVID quarantine and then he missed about 2 weeks with a sprained ankle. He's made some plays when he's been available, but has just lost too much time to be in the top 2 groups of slot receivers.

Correct me if I am wrong but.....

As long as football is paying his full tuition, he will be a football player first.

Didn't he have the option to tap out this season and still keep his scholly? If he could do that and still do fall baseball he should have done it. To me it all comes down to does he have the talent in either sport to make a living with it. If so then that is the one he should focus on regardless of scholarship. If not, just try to have fun and focus on your education.
