At this point, I don't think it's any name that's being thrown out. Every Cohen hire has been made without any lead up or rumors. Cannizaro, Moorhead, and Lemonis were all not being talked about until all of a sudden, they were hired
I’d say it’s a 70% chance that the eventual hiree will be someone whose name has not been uttered on this board.
I’m not sure how anyone could evaluate the talent regularly produced in, let’s say, a 6 hour drive of Starkville, and think to themselves “give me Mike Leach or Steve Sarkisian”.

Well the last few nights it’s been “Napier is 100% out, nevermind we’re still talking with Napier, Judge is the guy, I’m 99% sure Sark will be named tomorrow” and tonight.... crickets.
Even when our media was wrong they were at least being fed and reporting something but not tonight.

Yep. His update tonight was about the same as it was this morning. And Paul Jones even said last night that he was 99% sure we were hiring Sark today. He then said that he will not post a recruiting update Thursday because he is expecting an announcement today and a press conference Thursday. Cohen is toying with everyone
He’s what I think and am hearing. Leach was interested, and apparently a few of the cigar boys wanted him. He was out in touch with Cohen who flew down and talked with him in Key West. He wants $6m a year. Now, that ain’t gonna happen. Cohen still want Napier so was this a chess move by Cohen?

Our local media doesn’t know much more than the average message board poster. The national media seem to be far better connected to this search than the people that cover us every day.
When Brett McMurphy or Ross Dellenger have a scoop, I’ll pay attention. Until then everything else is just a guess. Two nights in a row we had two different guys who were all but sure things to be announced the next morning, yet here we are still waiting.
Based on what the national media has reported, Napier has turned us down at least twice, Judge was probably coming until the Giants swooped in, and we have interviewed several other guys but there is no clear indication of which way this is trending. I personally am rooting for it to be Sark, even over Napier who I am frankly tired of begging. But I have no clue what’s actually going on. We may hire Joe Moorhead for all I know.

You can't even use the right form of hire so I'll go ahead and throw your opinion out.
Basically parroted the same talking points he has been putting out. Keeps saying state is “very close” to having a deal done and is negotiating, but he has been saying that for two days now. He has no clue, just being intentionally vague. The “insiders” have little to no connections outside of MSU, so if the school ain’t talking they are totally in the dark.
I would not be surprised at all if the coach ends up being someone who hasn’t even been mentioned.

We've recruited the exact same way my entire life. No coach we've had was any better or worse at it over the long term. If you can figure out a way to get us into the top ten, I'm sure there's a lot of AD staffers and ex-coaches that would love that information.
I don’t buy Leach is the better coach. Better coaches don’t lose games against bad teams when they are up 49-17 late in the 3rd quarter like he did against UCLA this year. He has a bad loss just about every year. Keep his goofy *** away.
I think its going to be that woman coach from the 49ers that is in all the Microsoft commercials. We will be the darling of the media next year, college Game Day will be here to see the first woman NCAA Head coach, hell they might come here twice next year. At least this is what my sources are telling me.
