They are in a game delay because they cant get the lights on. Said there was lightening in the area earlier today. This game might not be played tonight.

Or someone at FSU didn’t pay the electric bill.

If they can’t even pay the electric bill, they certainly can’t afford Norvell’s buyout

SMU is making a lot of dumb mistakes, but they won.

Am I the only one who thinks FSU's Mike Norvell is far too intense. He can't be fun to play for. I know he was once considered an upcoming star in the coaching ranks, but I think it may be a mirage. He was 35-15 at Memphis. His teams were in four bowls and lost every one of them. Only the last bowl that he didn't coach because he had moved on to FSU was a big bowl, Cotton Bowl. He is 39-35 at FSU. He has only gotten his team in two bowls where he is 1-1. Beat a 6-6 OU team 35-31 in the 2022 Cheez-it bowl. His 13-0, 2023 team got crushed in the Orange Bowl 63-3. 2 bowls in 6 seasons at Florida State? A 46.7-million-dollar buyout keeps him employed. Kinda of like someone else we all know.

I sure wish we had one decent opponent going before starting B1G play. It's going to be hard to gauge where we're at... Plus it's hard as a fan to get excited for these next couple
The good thing is thing is that we have about as cherry of a start to Big10 plays as you could as for.

If we were a better team going into the season I would agree. We have a lot of transfers playing, a new DC and a new QB. It will give them time to sort things out. It's probably better to ramp up competition gradually and collect as many wins as we can this year.

Michigan State in their house isn’t going to be easy.
Not saying it’s going to be easy but they were picked near bottom of the big 10 …. for comparison our neighbors across the river start with at Michigan, Ohio St and then at Washington.

So yes Michigan State is not a gimme on the road … the only team in the big 10 I would replace Mich state with to start the year before Maryland would be Rutgers. That is my reasoning for saying it’s about as perfect as a start up as we could hope for.

Did you watch their game? I think they’re going to better this year.

I watched part of it. Again I agree it’s going to be a difficult game. Other than Rutgers who would you put ahead of Mich St for opening slate with Maryland? Maybe Northwestern? Out of the bottom 4 teams in the conference, we open with 2 of them?

I think Maryland and Rutgers look so far like the bottom feeders. I’m not putting MSU or Northwestern below us just yet. I’m not sure they both don’t have a better head coach than us.

Have to let the season play out but I don't think I've seen a schedule with fewer interesting and competitive games. 3 scrimmages, 3 bottom feeders, 3 blowouts, 3 good games.

A heavy dose of ramming it down their throat should win the day.
