I'm not trying to be tone death on Wheeler. His story is amazing. I think he has the ability to help us a lot more than he does. Right now, he just gets suckered into going inside against trees.

I think Wheeler would be a great player in a Nolan Richardson system.

Love Wheeler, but I can't imagine him beating out Scott next year and Henderson has to play. Joiner could be better than others too. I elevate the newcomers sometimes too much as well.....I thought Korita could shoot 40% from the three like I saw in high school.

Not fast enough.

Yeah, and at times we start to play like that. Except we don't have the speed to press and Haith doesn't seem to like the press. He seems to prefer leaving the shooter open in half court.

He's probably not fast enough. I just see his Pressey-like wing span & would like to see him get his hands on more passes on D.

Zero ball skills. Just charge into the lane and throw it up and hope for a miracle or a foul. He is at best a third or fourth off the bench.

This is just a joke.
Why doesn't Haith empty the bench and play the guys who haven't played all year. The score doesn't matter anymore. It's already beyond embarrassing.

Don't know why I'm still watching, but Jesus Christ. Foul after foul after foul after foul on us. What are these refs doing.

We are allowing 69% from the field and 3pt line. No reason to even run down the court for defense if that's the best they can do. Just stay on offense like it's 3-on-3 Girls OK basketball.

They are calling a game between a good college team and a team for the Y pickup league.

I am done with Haith. I know he has a couple of recruits coming in but I don't see any progression with the players an no imagination from the coaches.

They talk about running the high pick and roll but I don't think I've seen three passes all year go to the roll man. Just lots of outside passing.

No substitutions. What the heck? Are we trying to build confidence? What, in the recruits knowing they will start next year.... just makes no sense.

Typical of the way things have been run tonight, shot clock violation and they just let SMU keep playing.

The only hope I have is that our offense creates open looks and we just cannot hit them. Never seen a senior be in such a funk for a whole season. Before the year began the stats guys figured Birt would score close to 20 a game- boy were they off!!!! The hope I see is that we have a couple of shooters coming and Korita has a good stroke, hopefully he can make the jump from Fresh to Soph like Juice did. We saw what having a shooter catch fire like Birt did mid-conference can do (beat SMU at SMU)- maybe Scott or Joiner will be that guy.

Our bench players are better than theirs. But their starters are 25 points better than us. Don't believe it when they tell you depth is more important. With 25 media induced timeouts, there is no reason for 19 year old kids to get tired......SMU doesn't..................

Depth doesn't matter when your top 6 are stars unless you get lopsided (or fair) officiating and guys foul out.
Hopefully we'll have some guys come in next year ready play. Year 1 to year 2 is a big improvement year in D1... and we need all the improvement we can get.

19 year olds don't get tired playing basketball unless Gold takes them out to Talley's too often. They're used to playing 3-5 games a day on back to back days up until HS then go home and play in the driveway with their buddies.

Korita is out hurt I guess that's why Atson is playing? I'd prefer we play Battle or the walkon over Atson though. He either hasn't learned anything on defense all season or just doesn't care. No effort on that end though.
our starting five plus tk and Henderson play terrible defense. atson should never play. he plays no offense or defense and is confused most of the time. it seems he has learned nothing from day one. artisan is starting to play a little better but still plays so so defense. if their is a good thing about koritas injury is its his left wrist and not his right. I know who teaches defense for tu. he should know if its not working and make changes. I know this is crazy and I know its not going to happen, but I think if you do not play defense then you do not play. you can not simply try game after game to out score the other team.
