I think our plan now is a “single digit loss”. “We could have won all those single digit losses” Frank Haith.

Haith is gone IMHO . His lack of recruiting has done him in. You can’t win without rebounding ,inside scoring and rim protecting. Little development of the players he did recruit.

Should he be gone? Probably. Will he be gone? Probably not

We had Joiner last year and struggled. He is doing really good this year. Wonder what the difference is?
I totally disagree. Every team struggled last year as it was the “COVID” year. Even when we struggled joiner pulled it all together. He is doing well over there which is true. But if we had kept him I fully believe that we would be playing differently

Joiner good pg but not much at scoring. Yes he would have helped but not a deal changer IMO.

Should we just be like SMU and recruit guys that we may not want our daughter seeing? Sill wondering how they keep these guys in school at a pretty competitive university

Definitely good PG and your right not much of a shooter but he is a game manager. To me that is what is missing. You need someone like him that can manage what’s on the floor. I do think if he was here the team would play differently.

my hope is that Pritchard figures that out and becomes that guy. I see so much potential to n him but he is a bit wreck less right now.

We are not in need of a guard as much as we are in need of rebounding, inside scoring, and rim protection. Haith has failed at recruiting and developing players at that position. He stabs at Transfers and JUCOS but has had little success. His best success came when he had Mike Anderson, Wojcik and Manning recruit for him.

Just playing devils advocate. Pritchard avg 4.5 pts, Joiner avg 11.7 pts. Difference 7.2 pts. We have lost 9 games by 7 pts or less. Substitute Joiner for Pritchard and our record is 18-8 and our conference record is 9-6 and tied for 5th and Haith gets a lifetime contract extension. Lol

I think Pritchard will become a much better PG than Joiner but I agree with some posters that Joiner gave us an inspirational leader we’re lacking now.
For the most part during Haith’s tenure, we have not had players that inspire others and get teammates fired up and playing extra hard.

IMO, the player we have missed the most from last season is Rachal. He seemed to get buckets when we needed them or an offensive rebound.

I didn’t factor in Brandon Rachal but you are correct sir. Igbanu had also been able to get a lot of rebounds.

We are # 324 in blocked shots. Teams have a clear path to the rim with no Jerome Jordan or Michael Ruffin to be as rim protector. Our own shots are continuing to be blocked at a high rate. This is a recruiting failure. And has continued since Jordan left. Haith doesn’t seem to think it important.

My point was, once again we see players leave our program and thrive somewhere else. My point was the only constant in this continuing cycle is our coach. A good coach brings the best out of his players.
The staff clearly is unable to develop talent beyond the strength and conditioning staff. The kids come in and seem to grow physically, but all other aspects seem to diminish. Bringing in the "ready to go" transfer kids approach obviously isn't working...

1. We don’t recruit to our needs well.
2. We don’t develop our players well.
3. We are never ready to start the season.
4. We are falling toward the bottom of the AAC.
5. Support for the program has evaporated.

There is only one solution.
