Yeah you are right. Found out yesterday.
Robbinsville will still line up and play but it's a huge blow for for all. We still have a
good chance at conference. In my opinion it hurts more on defense than offensive. With 370 kids these things are huge. Oh well.
Biscuit may be delayed but not denied..he'll be ready.....for wrestling

Andrew's will win the SMC this year Robbinsville and Murphy will be weak, Hayesville lost the only good player they had Andrew's will lose by a running clock at Mitchell this year SMC will not be a contender this year, but next year Murphy will be back on top, that's my take

And Mitchell still won’t win it all! That’s my take lol!

Conference will definitely be a toss up now ...One player makes all the difference in the world in 1A ball and Robbinsville just lost that type of player..look at Mitchell, without the qb they may not win a game. This may be Andrews year now in the SMC. What Robbinsville still has is coaching, which is leaps and bounds ahead of the rest of the league.

You don’t think our new coaching staff is that good?

It will hurt on defense alot. He was all conference as freshman and sophomore.
Offensively it won't be as bad. Still will be tough to overcome.
I still got Robbinsville going into Andrews and getting the win.

I didn't say they wasn't good. I'm just saying Walsh and company have a top 3 1A coaching staff in this State. Walsh basically embarrassed Murphys new staff last year.
Robbinsville basically has 4 head coaches roaming their side lines every Friday night..One that Swain tried to hire but was turned down.
One that coached Alvin Kamara.
And probably the best line coach in all of 1a. So yes, no other staff in this conference compares.

I’m skeptical if a couple hires our new coach has made. I’m interested to see our new offense

I know Robbinsville will have to find a couple lineman and Williams gone will hurt. Finding a QB will be a big key.
Alot of ppl overlook the fact that Robbinsville will have two Adams boys in the back field. Those two will be tough to defend. Two other Adams brothers will be a WR unless one plays QB.

It’s a big loss but I don’t think it impacts it as much as a lot think it will. We will just have to wait and see.

The best shot is with the current mites/midgets..
That group is about to take a big hit, a casualty of consolidation falling through. For all the people that thought there wouldn't be any ramifications of electing anti consolidation and anti education commissioners on Murphy athletics, all I can say is enjoy the coming months/years. The loss of teachers, coaches and athletes will be the demise of Murphy athletics and will have some of those same people that were all for this, begging for consolidation eventually. Some of ya'll made this bed and now you can lay in it (not referring to you nole, just in general).

It's insanity at its finest for Cherokee County school system/commissioners. At what point do folks recognize it's just a school you attended and memories? The students deserve so much better. Damn shame....

I'm not sure the folks most against consolidation will care much about the demise of Murphy athletics, since I think a lot of them already don't like Murphy much. But they will care when their property taxes keep going up to pay for upkeep on outdated buildings, and their friends and neighbors' teaching positions get eliminated, and their kids' programs get cut, etc. The final bill for the DSS lawsuits is in, and it's not going to be cheap, but at least now there will be enough certainty as to the cost to allow for planning of other projects.
