Andrews 3-1 open
4-0 Murphy at Rosman 0-4
4-0 Robbinsville at Swain 2-2
0-4 Hayesville at Cherokee 1-3
4-0 Murphy at Rosman 0-4
4-0 Robbinsville at Swain 2-2
0-4 Hayesville at Cherokee 1-3
Since we are using if’s as in Cherokee was 60 seconds away I will say Andrews had 2 turnovers inside their own 10 that gave Cherokee 2 scores. One being Cherokees last td that put them ahead where the officials gave them 9 tries from the 5 with 2 phantom interference calls on 4th down. Cherokee did come to play but Andrews had 2 Tds called back. All this is part of any game but we are using if’s. Also people forget Andrews is without sophomore fullback for the season who would have added another dimension and lost a great athlete to transfer to a Georgia school. Wasn’t one of Andrews better games and score should have been 44 to 14 Andrews. It really doesn’t matter because a win is a win and we will take it.In my opinion Cherokee is better than Hayesville and Rosman and 60 seconds away from being better than Andrews
It’s all good but give Andrews some credit. Cherokee did beat Rosman but we will see Friday who is better Cherokee or Hayesville Both teams play better on the turfSettle down
.just trying to give Cherokee some credit
Even if Cherokee had pulled that game out they definitely weren't/aren't better than Andrews. Ive watched two games of each now and Andrews clearly has more talent. Turnovers and flag happy refs kept Cherokee in that one.and 60 seconds away from being better than Andrews
Barring something miraculous Robbinsville, Murphy and Andrews have playoff spots wrapped up, it's just a seeding proposition at this point. But because of the NCHSAA's ridiculous playoff seeding process conference finish will matter as little as it ever has. Even the winner of the SMC isn't guaranteed to have a home game. It’s doesn’t matter really. Andrews vs Robbinsville and Murphy vs Cherokee in 2 weeks. Just win....
Worked out well for the Murphy girls to be road warriors. But yes the playoff seeding is ridiculous.Barring something miraculous Robbinsville, Murphy and Andrews have playoff spots wrapped up, it's just a seeding proposition at this point. Why are they moving him up BK ?Robbinsville JVs over Andrew's 32-00.
Robbinsville QB Carpenter moved up to varsity.
Phillip's looked good at QB.
Based strictly on Records, Robbinsvilles schedule for the next three weeks is getting tougher as it goes. Not counting the non conference game it was Rosman now 0-4, Hayesville 0-4, then Cherokee now 1-3, coming up Swain 2-2, Andrews 3-1, Murphy 4-0. I realize that doesnt necessarily mean anything, just interesting stats.
Not sure why
He has a broke back..undoubtedly one of the dirtiest plays ever in high school sports..possible repercussions incoming. If what I’m hearing is true they lost their starting center Friday night for the season. Groenewold hasn’t played the last 2 weeks. Maybe they get him back this week.

I could not remain silent on this issue..what is your opinion on the play in question? No possible way you can defend the kidWelcome to the board, you should fit right in!
I'm genuinely sorry your son got hurt but I've watched the play back multiple times and saw nothing about it that constituted dirty play. The young man in question is not a dirty player and there's little chance the NCHSAA suspends said player if it's on the basis of the video evidence. He has a broke back..undoubtedly one of the dirtiest plays ever in high school sports..possible repercussions incoming.

first of all he is not my son..You must be watching the wrong play..he is not playing center in the play he was hurt on..it happened on Swains only extra point attempt of the night..he was lined up near the left end blocking..now find the play and tell me it is not dirtyI'm genuinely sorry your son got hurt but I've watched the play back multiple times and saw nothing about it that constituted dirty play. Groenwald is done for the seasonIf what I’m hearing is true they lost their starting center Friday night for the season. Groenewold hasn’t played the last 2 weeks. Maybe they get him back this week.
evidently if youve watched the play multiple times you are kinda worried..lolI'm genuinely sorry your son got hurt but I've watched the play back multiple times and saw nothing about it that constituted dirty play. lol..head up? he spears him in the back..why was he not trying to block the kick?you guys are watching the wrong play or playerI just watched the play all the murphy player does is hit him head up am I missing something?
Omg..I see it now..i don't have a dog in this fight but wow.lol..head up? he spears him in the back..why was he not trying to block the kick?you guys are watching the wrong play or player
Nope was just trying to see if I can see the other side's point of view. He doesn't go above the shoulders and you're saying in the back but I've watched it slow motion and everything and he hit him in the side. It looks like if it broke something it would've been the kid's ribs but I guess it was the force. He did not lead with his helmet, the hit is with his forearms. It's not a dirty play for me and definitely not "the dirtiest play in the history of sports".evidently if youve watched the play multiple times you are kinda worried..lol
Wonder why he wasn't trying to block the kick mbdfan? Looks like the Murphy player was still playing offense trying to block the player?Nope was just trying to see if I can see the other sides point of view. He doesn't go above the shoulders and you're saying in the back but I've watched it slow motion and everything and best I can tell he hit him in the side. It looks like if it broke something it would've been the kid's ribs but I guess it was the force. It's just not a dirty play for me and definitely not "the dirtiest play in the history of sports".
He leads with his forearms and his helmet is not lowered, he is facemask up. If it were lowered he would've hit him with the crown of his helmet, which never happens.Watched the video. Looks like clear intent to injure. Dead sprint with helmet lowered to kids side back area. Never has head up looking for the kick or anything
It's a cheap shot on a defenseless player, literally hits him square in the back. You must be watching the wrong play.He leads with his forearms and his helmet is not lowered, he is face up. If it were lowered he would've hit him with the crown of his helmet, which never happens.
I guess you might could argue targeting under the basis that there's no attempt on the ball (which there's tons of plays like that over the course of a game), but with no hit above the shoulders or in the back I'm not sure how that holds up as targeting. But I'm not a rules expert either.
I've said my piece on it and will add nothing further to this other than to say that was not square in the back. Ive watched it multiple times, full speed and slow motion. The hit is in the side area, not squarely in the back. He leads with his forearms, facemask up, he never lowers his helmet. Ya'll can argue the semantics of whether it would constitute targeting, I'm not an official.literally hits him square in the back.
