That’s awesome. But I still hate the fact that the MLB draft is right in the middle of the post season.

How was Mize taken #1 last year and Small was 28 this year? Someone with more baseball knowledge than me answer please?

The 28th pick has a value of an estimated $2.49M. That will almost buy him a nice winter house in Starkvegas.**

No they are the Rangers Triple A. The Brewers Triple A is the San Antonio Missions and Double A is the Biloxi Shuckers

He has been great to watch

His career trajectory at Mississippi State has been one of my favorites to watch. He's as good at challenging hitters at all angles of the zone as I've seen here.

The Brewers got a good one.

Because Mize was topping out at 98 and had four other pitches he could throw for strikes and whiffs, all within a very durable and strong starter’s frame. Mize could have been the fourth/fifth starter for the Tigers the day he was drafted.

Small's numbers are better but 1 thing is the pitches developed. Small is heavy fastball. College guys seem to have trouble with his heater. Thought is pro guys won't have as much trouble.
Another thing I heard was that Mize called his own pitches. Almost unheard of at college level. Not sure how that works but that's what he said in an interview. He also went deeper into games. Small was good for 5-6 and occasionally 7 innings. I think Small is very deceptive but needs to develop his breaking ball more. That has been the knock I heard. Great season and congrats to Small.

Mize is pitching well in AA this season and might be in AAA in a month if he continues to progress.

5-0 with a 1.21 ERA in 44.2 innings pitched.

So is that why he’s still only in AA over a year later? Ridiculous statement.
