It seems like we need to be down double digits before the team wakes up and realizes they're playing a basketball game. What can they do? Do you just blow up the starting lineup and see what a different five can do and play them the first 4-5 minutes? Even the games we've won (second Indiana game is a perfect example). We need to get down big before we start playing.

There's a lot wrong with this team. But it's the best we've got.

I feel like last year both ago and geo we're playing at a similar level. This year? Ayo made a huge step bup while Geo regressed

I was going to post this

You have to go back to the Minnesota game at the RAC and the northwestern game on the road as the last times that we came out in a game and started to take control of a game

Since then ...we have played either a game of an even first ten minutes ...or dug ourselves a major hole

Like we did for the big ten tourney 3 years ago ...I would blow up the starting line up ...

We need to come out and play solid to start the game

its almost like the first play is never successful, usually we lose the tip off and the other teams drains a 3. Its just amazing how little success they have early and they let it get to them and it snowballs

you cannot get away with this kind of energy and play in the NCAA tourney or you will be embarrassed on national tv

Slow starts have been a problem for awhile.

It seems like we start the games with a multitude of turnovers etc.

I'd start the game with some type of plays that are high % scores as I'm sure we have the stats to identify.

Said it in a different thread but maybe we should think about Geo running the point early in games until JY settles down. He is too amped up at the start and turns the ball over a lot early.

Interesting that we have fans that come up with 2 solid ideas.. throwing something new at an opponent or to address issues is supposed to be done on the bench. Good thoughts.

The team had 5 turnovers in the 1st 4 minutes....which is where starting Jacob Young becomes a net negative for the roster, he's wired to attack and score and it doesn't get others involved.

The lineup needs to return to Baker Mathis Caleb or Paul, RHJ and Myles.

You can get the same Jacob Young production with him off the bench. The amount of turnovers is killing starts.

Caleb is a ball stopper that can’t score . Jacob is a ball stopper that can score , so our options r very limited to who you start . I’d put Geo at the point to start until Jacob eases into the game.

We are in the same exact spot after the 5 game losing streak with thoughts on the lineup. Pike made the change to JY on the bench to start until at some point he changed it again. The issue is Pike is to set in his ways and lineup and different games call for different lineups.

Its the last call next week. Time for Pikiell to decide whether he wants to let it ride with JY or Geo. I know in tourney time playing out of control will get you a quick exit and down 15 by halftime

Last season we started so many of our big games up like 17-2 and then would just hold on throughout the game. this year has been the opposite.
