If he 100% wants to go to Washington, absolutely nothing stopped him from signing his LOI there this week.

He absolutely HAS to be waiting out to see what Montgomery/Blackshear do.

If EJ returns and/or we end up with Blackshear, he likely chooses Washington.

If EJ and/or Blackshear are not at UK next year, McDaniels chooses Kentucky.

Only way this waiting game makes sense.

Either way Kentucky is fine and we would beat the **** out of Washington anyway.

I have said before, it's possible he is waiting to make sure we have guys in the post.

As it stands right now, we have just one guy over 6'8 guaranteed to be on the roster.

If you are a 6'10 wing, wouldn't you want to have a couple more bigs on your roster to guarantee you don't get stuck in the post?

Didn't Evan Daniel's say after he changed his pick to foggy, "if the pick was today it would be Washington, but the longer it goes on he likes UK chances. Well that's what looks like is happening, only thing is, it does not explain the recent changes in crystal ball picks by the other sports writers to Washington.

Can you link the article/ espn mock draft?

http://www.espn.com/nba/insider/sto...mock-draft-new-no-1-pick-scouting-lamelo-ball

And by the way, about 50% of the time when I've refereed to McDaniels, I've done so by stating he is a "potential" top 3 pick. And yes, I've based it on what some pretty smart individuals previously said about Jaden and his potential.

From early August 2018 until at least late January/early February 2019, some mocks had him somewhere in their top 5. He had a lukewarm spring and it caused some of the mocks to downgrade him, but there's no delusion in stating that he recently was projected top 3, top 5, or even overall #1.

Givony is probably one of the best in the business when it comes to evaluating talent. He had McDaniels top 5 for months and he had him #1 overall in the late-winter.

and evan daniels switched his pick to washington today. Now watch Juzang not be anywhere near the player good enough to be one and done and it cost us McDaniels for nothing.

I don't understand what you mean.Juzang has nothing to do with his decision. He's more of a 2 guard type.

Smart decision would be to wait until you know what EJ and Nick do. Cant blame the kid/parents for waiting until that clears up

The kid's parents have as much say in this as you and I do. This is out of their hands. They've been pro UK in this recruitment as they only know their kid's personality and what would be best, but that doesn't matter when you have another party that fears losing control/credit/future earnings.

Maybe Juzang is a 2-3 and McDaniels is a 3-4, but they are both wings. They will both want to play the Kevin Knox/Tyler Herro role on the offensive end.

As a Cats fan I say the more the merrier, but it shouldn’t surprise anyone that someone would be in McDaniels’ ear about Juzang taking some of his minutes/shots. It isn’t a lie, it just isn’t something anyone can know for certain until they get here and compete.
