I hope so, would like to see him break out.

But, I don't think it will be tonight. Parker and Welsh are too big and strong for him. In fact, Skal and Lee better toughen up big time to compete with those two. They combine for 26 and 18 per game. Skal and Lee are at 21 and 11.

May see some Humphries tonight

Let's hope its a breakout game for him.
Skal definitely needs to improve his rebounding. He is only averaging 4.3 rebounds per game. This is a good early season game to see how Skal can fare against a team with some big bodies. Skal is the key to the season, our guards are very good , but we are still needing steady play from SKal.

I worry that Parker will punk him out.

Hopefully, Skal will make Parker move his feet and get him in foul trouble and/or wear him down.

Ucla is hot garbage. Even if you guys start a little slow, they literally have no true threats. If the bruins play the best they possibly can and you guys bring your 'c' game, Kentucky still wins.

Parker could use his size to back Skal down low in the paint and get him in early foul trouble if Skal does not play smart defense. UCLA Is 4-3 but they have some bigs that can contribute. AP and Marcus will need to play smart defense, block out and be fully engaged.

Agree with this. Is there any reason to believe that Parker, a senior, won't figure out how to use his strength against Skal or Lee. Our guard pressure can hopefully negate that so they can't get an easy entry pass.

Good points.

I think Poy goes against Parker and Lee maybe on one of the smaller guys. Skal will handle the big guy, Welsh.

While strength helps, it is overrated. That didn't stop players like Prince, Davis, etc. from being good players at Kentucky. With his athletic ability, he should still be able to get a decent amount of rebounds and just shoot over, stronger, but less athletic players.

Not impressed with Skal. Too easily pushed around. Poor footwork. His shady guardian didn't help him any by pulling him out of high school.

He's athletic, but strength isn't needed so his problem is what?

Not happening in the first half. Got any more insights. Skal may be the most overrated player I have seen at Ky but I'm haven't totally gave up on him yet.

UCLA Bigs are totally abusing him. He has to be wondering now whether he has the inside skills to star at the next level - he needs about 25 more lbs of muscle and be far more aggressive on defense.

Skal is 3 year player at the rate. He plays scared and has the strentgh of a 12 year old girl. I wouldnt take him this year in he first round at all. He can be great in time but he isn't the level of player we were lead to believe.
