Looks like it’s going to be a very very hot day for the opener against NIU… I would rather have it rain or be around 70 degrees for this game… hope the boys are in good cardio conditioning..
Selfishly speaking I am glad it is a Gold Out day for fans! I would agree with you they should break out the gold uniforms.Maybe a good day to bring out the yellow uniforms instead of the black

They were talking about that on Sportcenter. Old Dumbo ears (Finebaum) said the heat index for Bama's game at 11am will be 110degrees. He said he'd expect Bama to be listless and lethargic against E Carolina because of that. I guess they expect it to be cooler for their opponent? As to the Hawks vs the Huskies good game to rotate a LOT of players and see what that depth looks like hopefully. At least the 2nd half shouldn't be in the high sun hottest part of the day.Selfishly speaking I am glad it is a Gold Out day for fans! I would agree with you they should break out the gold uniforms.
Good thing humans haven't been impacting the weather. I think the 92-degree forecast must be fake news, right? Just because half the world is on fire, the glaciers are melting, and droughts are popping up all over the place means nothing. It's just weather being weather. Right? Right? Damn, SO many people are SO freakin' stupid.Looks like it’s going to be a very very hot day for the opener against NIU… I would rather have it rain or be around 70 degrees for this game… hope the boys are in good cardio conditioning..
It doesn't make any difference, if you believe actual studies on such things.Maybe a good day to bring out the yellow uniforms instead of the black
I bet you drive a vehicle and burn fossil fuels and thus have a carbon footprint like the rest of us. This is the world we've built.Good thing humans haven't been impacting the weather. Hats off to you my man, seriously. I'd love to see more games live, but not at the expense of 19 hours in the car for a three hour event. And your right that recliner and a beer watching the big screen and no line for the bathroom sure puts another weight on the scale as well.First home opener we will miss in 15 years. Getting harder each year to make the 9 1/2 hour drive each way. Paring back to ISU, OSU, Wiscy and Purdue at home and Michigan which is three hours. And yes, the first game is usually a killer.
I'll be enjoying on the big screen with a tito tonic. Cheers and Go Hawks!
FFS. You must be a bundle of joy to be around.Good thing humans haven't been impacting the weather. I think the 92-degree forecast must be fake news, right? Lolol. Well I would have to be the grill master, but a small compromise..And have someone GRILL for you while you sit and watch is awesome.
What studies are you citing, please post them. The Sun's light radiation spectrum is mostly yellow wavelengths and we see yellow clothing because the material does not absorb yellow light but reflects it while black cloth and material absorbs all wavelengths making it black (without reflected colors). Yellow is cooler than black. Of course white fabrics reflect all wavelengths and are the coolest. It doesn't make any difference, if you believe actual studies on such things.
Was that the throwback against Kent st?2004 was an old-timers game and Drew Tate's 1st start. VERY hot that day as well.. Tate left the game with cramps. The home opener is the only time my wife goes with me and she says it's always hot. At least sitting in the west stands by kickoff we'll be in the shade.
Probably waste byproducts from those lizard people living at the center of the earth.Oil/gas is not a fossil fuel. They created that term to make it appear to be scarce, to raise prices. You can find oil 3 to 4 times deeper in the earth than any fossil ever recovered, proving that it is created by a different method.
Dudes a jackass - nuf saidFFS. You must be a bundle of joy to be around.
Nearly every memory I have of Labor Day weekend is hot. Got dragged to Old Threshers Reunion in Mount Pleasant every year when I was a kid. Hot.
First football game my sophomore year in HS 1978. Bank temperature said 104 when we pulled into Ottumwa. It has been hot in the summer for a long time. And you are as guilty as anyone else of what effect humans are having on the environment. So STFU and reduce how much CO2 you are dumping into the atmosphere with your rants.

Correct, as long as you make up your own definition of "fossil fuel" and not one introduced/accepted since at least 1652.Oil/gas is not a fossil fuel. You mean the definition that says the fuel comes from fossils? I didn't make that up. It is the definition.Correct, as long as you make up your own definition of "fossil fuel" and not one introduced/accepted since at least 1652.

Yeah, I doubt we've learned anything new since 1652Correct, as long as you make up your own definition of "fossil fuel" and not one introduced/accepted since at least 1652.
Show me where the definition of fossil fuels says that and I'll happily agree with you. You can mock someone for going off the rails but there's no need to make things up to do it.You mean the definition that says the fuel comes from fossils? I didn't make that up. It is the definition.
The point was to mock the original (dukeslater) statement. Some people buy whatever they are sold at any price.
SIAP but these discussions belong on the OT board.FFS. You must be a bundle of joy to be around.

Talk to the *** that started the BSSIAP but these discussions belong on the OT board.
Also, if there were only Big Ten games on the schedule the season would not start until September 26. I realize there are reasons this will never happen ($$$$).
You beat me to this uiHawk82, was just about to post this! I agree! What studies are you citing, please post them. Yellow is cooler than black. Of course white fabrics reflect all wavelengths and are the coolest.
But another factor is in play here which is what physicists call Blackbody radiation meaning when an object just keeps soaking up energy or heat until it is in thermal equilibrium reflecting as much as it absorbs and staying at a constant temperature.
Basically, that means even wearing white fabrics, over-exerting yourself, and being the sun for minutes and an hour or two at a time you WILL GET EFFING HOT.
good video from KCRG with thermometer measuring different colored jerseys.

No, yellow clothes do not absorb as much solar radiation as black clothes. [1]
Heat and Radiation Absorption
- Black clothing: Absorbs nearly all visible wavelengths of sunlight and converts that light energy directly into heat, making black fabrics significantly warmer in the sun. [1, 2]
- Yellow clothing: Reflects a large portion of the visible light spectrum (especially yellow wavelengths) and absorbs far less solar energy, keeping the fabric noticeably cooler than darker colors. [1, 2]
- General consensus: As most users on Quora agree, yellow sits in an intermediate range—absorbing more energy than white, but considerably less than black or dark green. [1, 2]
It was 27-7 so it wasn't that bad, especially with them being a national title contender during those years... At least that day we were introduced to true freshman Bob Sanders! Will be a warm one for sure! Was at one of the Capt. first games and it was the hottest I've sat through....... Iowa vs K-State in KC. Turf temp. was around 125........ and they rolled us.
Gotta keep the guys hydrated Saturday. Lots of ice water, have the trainers watching the players closely. It was 27-7 so it wasn't that bad, especially with them being a national title contender during those years... At least that day we were introduced to true freshman Bob Sanders!
