Sixpack scoop on LSU DB transfer possibility. ...

[Shmuley]

Phelon Jones, LSU DB from Mobile, has backed out of his talks with Auburn to transfer from LSU to Auburn and sit for 09 with three to play two. Jones now lists three programs to which he desires to transfer (in order):

Bama
State
Troy

Bama is roughly 6 deep in DBs. Very highly sought after out of HS. Rumor is his dad is an ***. May be a trouble maker. Consensus 4 star out of HS. Worth it?

We need cover corners in a bad way and I think Mullen can handle his dad.

But I'll gladly take him.

I heard we were trying to get him in for a visit this past weekend. Does anyone know if he made it?

I think we've got a pretty good chance with him.

And yeah, we definitely need him.</p>

who's father gave saban hell when saban was trying to recruit the kid?

[jackstefano]

He switched from Miami to LSU. Pretty sure Saban had been gone a year at that point.

This head case now wants to leave LSU to go stand next to Saban behind three 5 stars and four 4 stars. His Dad has told another site's stalker that they will exhaust the in-state schools (the kid is from Mobile) before considering out-of-state. It's now up to LSU to release him to talk to Bama, and for Saban to make an offer.

I wish he would come to state, it's definitely worth the chance to beef up the secondary

Tony Jones is telling their stalker that PJ will enroll at Bama (if Saban accepts his squirrely ***) and pay his own way for 09. He would then be eligible for a scholly in 2010 and have 3 to play 2.

Apparently this is how they would get around the Hat's tiny dick refusal to release him to Bama. The rule is that if a school won't release you to a competitor, you can't go on scholarship to the competitor, but you can enroll there and pay your own way until your one year sit out is over. If accurate, I had no idea this would work.
