I’m around 158. Lost about 20lbs right before this all started and have been able to keep it off so far. I just bought ice cream at the grocery store, Sofia I don’t watch it I could be on the way back up.

I want to start running again, but I have a little issue I am trying to heal up before I start again.

6'5 and 225.

Was at 243 on Nov 1, so 18# lost in almost 6 months. It isn't a fast process, but its been a steady 3# per month loss.

Would love to get to 210 which was my heaviest back in college a couple decades ago and is also the highest weight I can be before entering the 'overweight' category for bmi.

I track everything I eat and my exercise on a calorie app. Its 17ing exhausting to sit there and add up a dinner where olive oil was used and 10 other ingredients with calories were also used. Its time consuming but worth it as thru the years it's been the only way for me to steadily lose or maintain weight.

Been a dedicated weightlifter for 30 plus years. Love it way too much but these last 3 weeks suck. I wasn’t prepared for it. No real weight lifting equipment. Have figured out a few things to do but I’ve decided after all these years of advising lifters to take time off I’m finally doing that. It truly sucks and now I tend to drink way more beer than I need too!
6 y’all 218. Weight holding steady. Liver screaming for help!! I have always taken Liv Aid so I pray my enzymes are still good! Damn I need a morning workout so I won’t drink the night before!! Natty Light is my pre and post NOT workout drink of choice right now! Yep I’m having issues!! Haha

float weight - > 179 to 182
bricks are still showing

Check out @corygfitness (ig/Twitter) - one of the best decisions I’ve made for personal development investment for both fitness and mindset (for 8.99 per month it’s a steal)

You are too smart to not know that BMI is a silly number... It's for populations and includes 50%+/- women. So at 6'5" 210 I think you would be half *****.**

Dang. That some swinging. 272 - 185 and all in between. You can clearly drop when you want. What causes the gains? Going no carb then back on carbs?

Has more to do with going from calorie surplus to calorie deficit than no carbs to carbs..,,it’s all an energy balance- just different ways to achieve it

6' @ 185lbs, and have to agree with another poster BMI is a poor gauge. I run 40-50 miles a week (sub 2 hour 1/2's) , watch what I eat and my insurance pegs me at risk because of my BMI. They assign me a counselor to discuss weight loss options where we have monthly calls to discuss strategies. Our conversations turned to anything but weight loss after our first session.

Oh I don't actually think it is a definitive algorithm for determining if i am a healthy weight or not, but it is something I want to base a goal off of.
I'm aware it skews so that athletes show as overweight when they are really in good shape- I used that excuse for years, until it just couldn't be honestly used anymore.

Setting a goal off of bmi is kind of a trick of the mind- its like pricing something at $19.95 instead of $20.

But most importantly, I know that 210# is a weight I could be at which would allow me to keep muscle and not be as barrel chested or love handled

Totally agree bmi shouldn't be the sole indicator of healthy weight.

I am actually in the same boat. When I get into my very best shape at the end of each summer, I am dancing around the overweight/normal line. In reality I am under 15% BF and my doctor gives me a lollipop. Not right now though. He would probably kick me in the nads. Lockdown has ruined my routine and I have to get back into one....

I am fearful that health insurance companies will start using BMI to gauge obesity and start charging people more with no idea of their actual health. I think life insurance may already be doing it and any man that has ever lifted a weight is screwed.

Yeah you nailed it. The last 2 years from April-October Ive stayed on a low carb diet with a 20 carb a day limit. I build in a cheat weekend every 6 weeks or so. Then when I get off I go crazy and eat straight junk and drink huge amounts of beer. I'm going to try like hell to break that trend this winter.

Obviously sixpack attracts the minority athletic/CrossFit portion of our fan base, this is no surprise

There have been a lot of posters at 200# or more so far.
The average adult us male weight is just shy of 200#, so a lot of posters(me included) are over the average.

...and maybe those who are morbidly obese aren't wanting to advertise it.

5'7" and been between 150 and 152 for well over a year with 16-18 hr/day fasting along with low carb, low sugar + the gym. Have kept it in check for the most part since I've not been to the gym since Feb. 7th. That is until last week, did a 42 hour fast two weeks ago then took a week off from fasting and didn't eat worth a damn but I enjoyed the hell out of it. I'm up to about 156-158 right now.

Funny how quickly you can gain it and how quickly you can feel it on you if you're one that usually keeps weight in check for months at a time. Started back fasting this evening.

About 210. Down 10-12 lbs since beginning of the year. Hopefully knock off another 10. Packed it on good when baby came and everyone dropped off carb loaded dinners. Gave up fried food for lent, and with quarantine I have time to actually cook, ride my bike about 10 miles a day, way less beer and more vodka. After quarantine I plan to keep the vodka going but the rest will probably diminish as we get back to hectic times. I can't wait.

Sorry my exercise offends you.

And I answered a specific question. But I appreciate the schooling on downvotes. You are def an expert there.

I htink I can speak for a lot of fellow sixpackers that say it's not your exercise that offends me. It's the possibility that you are not fat. If you can show that you still manage to be fat and out of shape so that you belong here, I don't care that you exercise.

6ft 165lbs. Down from 175lb a year ago from doing more cardio with normal gym routine. I'm mindful of what I eat, but certainly would't qualify as strict. I care more about natural ingredients and high sugar content than anything else.

I ordered some resistance bands. You can do a lot with those. A pull bar that goes over the door frame is great too. Also, get some push up bars. You can go really low on those and it's good if you have bad wrists like I do.

The main thing I've had to do to try and maintain size is "time under tension." The reps with the weights I do have (25lb dumbells), and on pushups, I do them slowly. At first I was doing tons of pushups but was losing size. Pushups aren't difficult for me normally because I don't weigh enough I guess, so I've started doing them slowly and started getting really sore again after my workouts.

I also workout outside. The FL heat works up a good sweat.

I really don't get all the down votes. I see how someone could see you were "flexin," but to me you answered his question with specifics. I personally like having information. I give information as well. Sorry if that's a "flex."

It doesn’t bother me. I can be opinionated and I have probably rustled some people along the way from people of differing opinions.
