We should lose every game too to stymie the NCAA from doing that! We'll show them who is boss!!!I say we play him anyway and sometime next year the NCAA can void all our wins.

As any Notre Dinero fan can tell you, the new nomenclature is “vacate”.I say we play him anyway and sometime next year the NCAA can void all our wins.
That nails it. People complain about kids opting out of bowls. ( I know I do) Here’s a kid who plays ( with very little practice) gets hurt andLost in this is the precedent that the NCAA has basically set, if you are an NFL player and you get injured in your bowl, too bad. Now we’ll see that even more than we already did. NCAA somehow making bowl games even more meaningless and killing their own sport. Morons
Is it any surprise? They have a history of promoting doing the wrong thing instead of the right thing. That nails it. People complain about kids opting out of bowls. ( I know I do) Here’s a kid who plays ( with very little practice) gets hurt and
NCAA shoots him down. Would have been a great opportunity to do the right thing.
It is ridiculous given the wild west world we are in right now. They get tough with this, but then when the Supreme Court rules in favor of NIL, they throw up their hands, go all Pontius Pilate and say we can't do anything to give it structure or reign it in.Is it any surprise? They have a history of promoting doing the wrong thing instead of the right thing.
UNC- no sanctions. PSU- no sanctions.
Making an exception for a player who played in a bowl game and withdrew from the draft? DENIED.
I believe that only training expenses and travel/lodging for that training is allowed. I do not believe they are even allowed to lend them money based on potential earnings.what kind of money do players get when they sign with an agent?
The NCAA should focus on the best interests of the players and give them every chance to succeed. I assume the no second chances type approach relates to how difficult it was to keep everyone honest and keep money out of the game. Clearly there is no point to the NCAA playing that role that rigidly now with NIL.
This is just not true in this situation . Singleton was able to hire an agent before the bowl game because rutgers was not going to a bowl. If you’re on a good team that qualified for a bowl by winning games, you are not able to do this.Lost in this is the precedent that the NCAA has basically set, if you are an NFL player and you get injured in your bowl, too bad. Now we’ll see that even more than we already did. NCAA somehow making bowl games even more meaningless and killing their own sport. Morons
Agree and also why I don’t get mad when players opt out of bowl games.Sucks but it’s the correct call. You can’t sign with an agent and then change your mind. They either need to enforce the rule or make it like basketball.
Yep.Agree and also why I don’t get mad when players opt out of bowl games.
This. In light of NIL this decision is just laughable. Hiring an NFL agent bans you from the sport, but a NIL agent is totally fine? How stupid. College BB is pay for play now. This requirement should be null and void. This is just not true in this situation . Singleton was able to hire an agent before the bowl game because rutgers was not going to a bowl. If you’re on a good team that qualified for a bowl by winning games, you are not able to do this.
Well, they're heading for a similar fate as Pilate... death by their own handsIt is ridiculous given the wild west world we are in right now. They get tough with this, but then when the Supreme Court rules in favor of NIL, they throw up their hands, go all Pontius Pilate and say we can't do anything to give it structure or reign it in.
POS Organization.Such an utterly useless organization out of touch with reality.
Call Jimbo Fischer at A&M and see how they do it.I just saw a comment online that RU is still going to try another route to get him eligible. Anyone know what that is ?
?Disgraceful. Schiano was absolutely pissed. NCAA must go. Lets make it three conferences of 20-22 and self govern. The NCAA is a bureaucratic waste of money.
I actually thought it was suspicious that the denial was announced on the same day that Olivia Newton-John's death was announced. No coincidence that this denial was announced on the same day the FBI raids Mar-a-Lago.
Gotta do something so it appears that they still existIn a world of NIL and college free agency they're enforcing this??!!
or don't sign with an agent.Lost in this is the precedent that the NCAA has basically set, if you are an NFL player and you get injured in your bowl, too bad. Now we’ll see that even more than we already did. NCAA somehow making bowl games even more meaningless and killing their own sport. Morons
Could? An exception was made by the NCAA in the first place to allow a player who hired an agent to play in a bowl game. How does the exception not apply both ways now that by playing in the game the kid became undraftable due to injury.or don't sign with an agent.
Edit, forgot about the bowl scenario. I could see where an exception could be made
makes sense, I wasn't aware of how the whole thing worked. I would think the team has an attorney that can appeal this or take it to court? Seems like a no brainerCould? Agreed the courts seem like the best route. Do it Drew.makes sense, I wasn't aware of how the whole thing worked. I would think the team has an attorney that can appeal this or take it to court? Seems like a no brainer
RU doesn't have nearly enough cash. They're Texas ATM. Shout out to Knightmoves.Call Jimbo Fischer at A&M and see how they do it.
I would love it for Singleton to be able to come back, but let’s be real, Bama and Georgia are reloading every year, they are not counting on 6th year seniors.I agree with you guys regarding Singleton. If this was Bama or Georgia, we know what the outcome would be.
Getting late in the game for Singleton. This is typical for the NCAA in a ruling which makes them feel they are doing a job. Over the years the NCAA’s inconsistent decisions on players and policies are well documented. Here is just another bad play in what should have been easy. Still had this been another higher profile school I would assume this would have gone in a much different direction. I would not expect any changes if I were Rutgers and Singleton to re instate him this season. Keep working out with trainers and see if your agent can get you into a tryout down the road. Otherwise you have a degree and the working world awaits as it does for most.
Yes…would be better for him. The NCAA would then approve his waiver request.Maybe if he enters the portal and transfers to North Carolina or an SEC team.
And once he gets his waiver, he can transfer back to Rutgers immediately!! Voila!!! Problem solved.Yes…would be better for him. The NCAA would then approve his waiver request.
I actually thought it was suspicious that the denial was announced on the 59th anniversary of the Great Train Robbery in England.I actually thought it was suspicious that the denial was announced on the same day that Olivia Newton-John's death was announced.
Good question. Let's compare:So why was the sixth year All Pac 12 OL Jaxson Kirkland reinstated after doing almost the same thing as Singleton? He's only going to miss their opening game.
