I was speaking with a friend of mine yesterday and she mentioned she was on a Zoom call with Favre. The topic of the USM coaching search came up. Favre was asked who USM should hire and he said they should consider Deion Sanders. Deion is apparently looking to get into college coaching. Another friend pointed me to this post from 2019 on Deion's Twitter and a post from the 247 message board.

Apparently USM has/had been recruiting his son. I'm not trying to indicate he'll even be considered but it is 2020 and stranger things could happen I guess. I would imagine if Favre gets involved it could lead to at least an interview.

God that would be an awful decision. Deion got coaching lessons against MRA like 3 weeks ago. Which means that it’ll probably happen. To the top...

If USM was relevant I would be happy that they are about to nuke their program with that hire. As it stands it just makes me feel pity. That would be a devastatingly stupid hire.

Yeah that reverse late in the game in his territory was dumbfounding.

Bizarre approach in that game no doubt.

Yeah. That would be a disaster. He'd recruit pretty well, but he's got a long, long way to go with coaching. He'd need a top staff, and with USM's budget, he wouldn't get one. Good lord, he's a high school assistant at a school where he can out talent 95% of the teams he's coaching against.

Don't be surprised if Jay Hopson ends up at Jackson State. He has been successful in the SWAC before.

Remembering why their “leadership” got rid of Comegy, I would be shocked if they hired Jay Hopson. Shocked!

Brett got a lot of hits to the head over the years. Deion isn’t happening in Hattiesburg.

I kinda know Coach Comedy. We've had some talks about his JSU tenure. He wanted to recruit white players and was told he couldn't. I can guarantee you his agent has already called USM for an interview.
