Anxiously awaiting Godfrey explaining why Florida had to settle for choice 1C.

Yep, gaining steam. Solid hire but he doesn't like dealing with boosters and

what not so Scott will have to take up that slack.

This is the one scenario that worries me about Mullen. I believe he would jump to FSU if he had the chance, and he probably should. He would definitely be a candidate.

It would be an answered prayer for ole miss fans.

Why FSU when he wouldn’t go to Florida? Are their fans any more sane? And with Kelly at Florida and Miami on the rise, the whole state of florida is going to be a boiler for whoever is coaching down there.

Wait. So, IF Sumlin wins out, he is still gone? That would be a little

ridiculous. That's a big IF. They are dogs in BOTH. But still.

Sometimes, you don’t know how crazy she is until you pound her muffin. FSU is unpounded muffin to Mullen right now. This is one of the few jobs I worry about Mullen leaving for. Hopefully the quality of life aspect of being our coach outweighs his desire for an easier route to a natty. That’s pretty much our only selling point versus them.

Ive said the same thing. If they win out and go 8-4... And sumlin gets fired, that would be absurd considering he played more than half the season with a true freshmen. Starkle makes that team elite in my opinion. I think they will roll OM this weekend. And give LSU a great game.

Sumlin is gone. Done deal. Jimbo is their man and that should worry us.
Because the Internets say so. Maybe he is done and maybe he isn't. But everyone saying he's done doesn't have any more of a clue than I do. If everything the Internets said was "done" really was, there'd be a lot of coaches at different schools today.

They don't necessarily know either. I know when I make an executive decision I want to announce later, the first thing I do is go tell the staff. **

I don't know, but their AD said this Summer that Sumlin's team was going to have to show some improvement, and 8-4 is not improvement. They could cover their *** and use the QB injury as an excuse for letting Sumlin try again but I would not be at all surprised if he is already a dead man walking.

Much easier to win a championship there. The ACC gauntlet isn't much of a gauntlet compared to the SEC W gauntlet. Plus it would be easier to recruit there. And Mullen would end up coaching Cam Akers after all.

It's still not a slam dunk, but it would definitely concern me.

One guy reporting this is also reporting Gruden to UT is gaining steam.
A guy who has three years of college coaching experience all at low levels and has been out of coaching completely for 9 years.... I know he has a pretty good name to walk into a living room with but I'm having a hard time seeing this working out. If it happens it will be interesting to watch and see if he can get the staff he would need and get national recruiting rolling with zero high school contacts. For all my predictions about Tennessee I don't have one here, no clue how this hire would work out.

They are not gonna roll OM. They will be very lucky to win that game

Hearing Chip Kelly to Flordia is a done deal barring any snags...thoughts?
I think this has been in the works awhile. Remember when Stricklin mentioned that he wanted to make football "fun again"? Chip Kelly was quoted in saying the same thing when he was at Oregon. Cryptic?

Do you think Mullen is the type of guy who would run away from Saban? Or are you worried about FSU & their pocket book?

I don't have any inside info on either of these questions.

A&M is a good rushing team. OM's defense is terrible against the run. A&M winning this game won't be lucky. It'll be because they're better.

And A&M is no world beater on D either. Everybody says they lead in sacks. Hard to sack a mobile QB who throws 90% of his throws on a 3 step drop.

Whoever has ball last type of game. OM is at home. Yes, A&M will be fortunate to win

Seems likely.....they probably had some communication with Kelley before pulling the trigger on McElwain.

You do realize that there are actually jobs better than ours, and FSU is definitely one of those. Much easier conference, and they have been in the playoff and won the natty each in the past 4 years. Dang right that would be extremely scary if that job opens up. No clue if Mullen would be at the top of the list, but that's one job that has no downside to taking.

It is Sumlin’s fault they are stuck with the freshmen in the first place. Either intentionally or unintentionally, he ran off Kenny Hill, Murray, and Kyle Allen. Got his one year get out of jail free card with the Trevor Knight transfer, but he made his bed and now he has to lie in it. The fact is that no SEC coach who runs his program the right way should ever have to depend on a true freshmen QB starter unless the kid is an elite talent (like Jalen Hurts or Jacob Eason) or injuries force their hand (like with Fromm at UGA). Sumlin has been in this boat twice in 3 years now, and will likely be seeing either Mond or Starkel (or both) transfer this offseason as well to make matters even worse.
