Lamar Peters is averaging 4.3 points a game and 3.6 assists a game. We really need Nick back because apparently not having him has broken our Peters.

That's what I want him to get from here out. If he reaches that line, we will be a tough out

I simply don’t agree how all this was handled. If Nick was going to be gone for the season, they should’ve come out and said it, if nothing else to let the team get into a mindset he’s not coming back.

Lamar’s quote a few games back when he said “we need nick back” or something to that effect let’s me know even the team was on a game by game basis.

I don’t know if that makes any difference in Lamar or anyone else or Wins and Losses, but at least the team knows what to expect. You can punish Nick without punishing the whole team.

I agree Nick's suspension has been handled atrociously by MSU. Not sure how it could be handled any worse but I don't want to find out.

I agree. This state of limbo sucks. I think our university has handled this very poorly. The investigation should be complete. Nick has missed 6 games. Today will be his 7th. Make a ruling. Three options:

1. Let him play immediately. 7 game suspension served for whatever he did.
2. Announce how many more games he will have to miss and the path back to the team.
3. Remove him from the team.

This indefinite suspension has gone on long enough. It's BS. It's what the NCAA does when they just want a cloud to hang over the program.

absent him being kicked out of school, a sexual assault or a felony. I have no idea what is going on but I think it’s stupid.

Agreed. **** show of a handling.

The lack of transparency is not a good look. I understand not wanting to comment initially b/c you want to have all of the facts and complete an internal investigation. But at this point with no announcement made, the only reasonable conclusion is that there is some sort of fear of NCAA repercussions, lawsuit, or a bigger threat involved than just Nick.

It's probably NCAA related, meaning our leadership's silence is the best course of action. If they gave a lot of you what you wanted and ran their mouths, they'd be just Like OM leadership. I'm guessing most of you were very critical of OM running their mouths and leaking issues.

Yep. Best course of action to suspend the player, play out the rest of the season, and investigate internally.

As has been said here many times, he put the University in a bad spot. I would say they are handling it the only way they can to mitigate the risks.

How can you say they are handling it the only way they can when you don't know the exact situation and you don't really know how we are handling it? All we know for sure is that Nick is suspended and the University isn't saying anything to the public. If we are "working with the NCAA" then we are fcked. That never works well.

Some of you pansy 17s need to come up off the Nick scoop and let us know what’s going on. For gosh sakes that’s what the board is for.

LOL. Meanwhile, LSU finally suspends Smart for tonights game just a few hours before tipoff. Never mind that there's actual audio tapes of massive NCAA Violations talking about Smart.

Well it is the first game since the audio was released

Seems pretty clear that this is an academic issue. Also clear more is involved than just Nick. So does that mean a university employee like a tudor or does it mean other athletes or both. If this was just nick cheating on a paper or test we would have clarity. Just better hope we don't work with the NCAA like Missouri did, b/c their football team got punched in the dick.

Yes he had someone take a test for him.

That would explain the uncertainty.

If it is an academic issue, it is up to the honor’s council (believe it is mostly comprised of students) on if he’ll come back. And they do those things blind, so they won’t know who he is.

If it is his first violation, unless it was super egregious, they’ll probably just fail him in whatever class it was and he’ll come back when they decide.

If it is his third, he’ll be kicked out of school like Fred Brown was.

to me, that's best case scenario. no ncaa violation there. no other athletes involved. no crime. if that's true, just announce the number of games he has to miss and be done with it.

That’s not athletics choice, I’m pretty sure its the honor councils.

It could be NCAA related depending on who took the test for him.

I heard the test was taken while he was playing a game.

Are you saying he did it because it was during a game? Because that’d be untrue, athletes get exams excused if they have games.

Or that he was dumb to have the guy take an exam during a game?

It seems like if they knew he was done for the year that the university would just announce that. I don’t see what they gain by keeping everyone in suspense. That makes me think there is at least hope for him coming back before the end of the year. If it’s already been decided and they are just sitting on it I don’t really know what purpose that serves.

Making sure all the fans know what’s going on isn’t priority 1 right now I guarantee it.

Hopefully it’s a very small issue and not much comes from it.

You mean the same tapes that mention Lamar Peters ?

What are you talking about dude? The Smart tape is from 2017. Peters was already at MSU in 2017 so why the hell would he be on that tape as well?

Ha...best case scenario? You realize that is essentially a guaranteed expulsion from the university, right? There is no “announce the number of games”. That number = all the rest of the games of his would-be career. If that really is the best case scenario, our entire program might about to be real 17ed.
