You can’t see it for yourself? Need some help?

Well, that's why I asked if Wizard was going to tell us who and why. I don't know all the 4A teams and their schedules, but if Wizard or yourself wanted to point out the mistake, it definitely helps have a conversation about it. If I'm not mistaken, Wizard is a fan of Clinton so I would assume he's talking about them but we all know what assuming does... So is there a particular team that you think SS is off? If so, where should that teams SS be? Who has a higher SS that should be lower?

FYI - I have no ties to Simmons and have no idea who he even is, but do like talking football and since it is a discussion board, if someone wants to complain about something, it would be nice to at least give some details and background on "why". I also have nothing against Clinton (again, assuming that is who Wizard thinks should have a higher SS). Too many people get on these boards to complain that their team should be ranked higher, played a tougher schedule, RPI sucks, etc. but never give any details.

Gosh dang it! Wiz…that goes for you too Otis!

Here we go….

Ain’t no way Clinton should be sandwiched between RS Central and East Burke. I’m sorry…they’re better than that.

Sump’em else I noticed is on the ratings…the largest gap on the whole list is between West Iredell and Burns. Do what? Heck! it’s a done deal! Crown the Warriors!😂

Western Foothills! Baby!😂

Maybe we should all just be appreciative that he takes the time to do this and not complain..... We are very very lucky to have something like this
Agree 100% with this. The guy's formula tracks over 400 teams on a weekly basis stircly based on an algorithim; no way to expect him to add any nuance or personal observations to adjust his rankings. It's fine to say you think Team A is actually better than their ranking (and Simmons woild probably agree with you), but that doesn't make the ranking "wrong"; same goes for say comparing a 4-2 Texas to a 6-0 James Madison. But like any ranking based on comparative results, the more numbers (i.e. game results) you put in, the more reliable over time it becomes.
I did notice his system (again, not him personally) showed ED a 17 point favorite over Clinton last week which I thought was way high; ended up I think 14 though for much of the 2nd half it was 17 or more.

Definitely better then Massey Rating.
Maybe or maybe not. The Simmons system adjusts more slowly than Massey or MaxPreps. So, a team that gets "hot" later in the season will be under favored by Simmons. This is particularly true when a team has lost key players to injury, QBs in particular, and the team suddenly gets the injured players back is "playing better now". Most teams have very little depth and just a few key injuries can make a huge difference when those injuries heal.

And if Simmons had Clinton ranked higher you would go with that. If Maxpreps had Clinton higher you would go with that. Associate Press, UPI, CNN, College Game Day or the Garland Gazette....pick a publication or website...any of them....whichever had Clinton ranked higher would get your full endorsement.
You know Wiz well lol

Thanks for all the compliments guys - yes it is a lot of work each week. I put in way too much time sometimes. The difference between the RPI and my ratings is that I use scores of the games and RPI doesn't.

Scores are historically a more accurate predictor. The 35-point mercy rule we have now is making it tough because you know that some team could win 75-0 if they wanted to, but only win 49-0 because of the rule. So sometimes things are little skewed and I'm going to probably have to adjust for that more going forward. - "tweak" the formula a little.
