This is why I don't dog Murray for that late game incident the way some of our loser, idiot fans have, because it was clear to me that LSU instigated that among other things. It was like a European football flop, they wanted to play the victim and were all mouth today, comes from their moron head coach.

If he can't see the talent of Ulis then he's a moron, which judging by reports of his class attendance....
They the zebras went to the replay to revue it and saw that the LSU player instigated it. But Murray does need to be careful not to get baited into doing something that the refs might frown upon!

I haven't read all 3 pages of replies, so I'm sure someone has said it...

Simmons is probably realizing what might have been. He could have come to Kentucky and could be going to an NCAA tournament, but instead he chose LSU and the NIT. He could have had Ulis feeding him for easy dunks and wide open shots but instead he's basically had to play point forward for LSU.

He knows Ulis is the best pg in the league, but he's just being a pouty infant today.

I believe the hype Ulis has been getting lately for SEC player of the year is bothering Simmons.

Won't LSU lose a scholarship over his GPA and being a one and done?

Hope the crybaby likes losing 1st round in the NIT

When GREAT players go to a weird school, I assume they want toe prove they can carry a team. As best I recall, we didn't even really get a chance to start recruiting Simmons. Kentucky is the Death Star of the SEC, Simmons just saw his season go up in smoke against them.

Incredibly poor sport. Let me just add this: IF you truly believe the Ole Miss PG is better, you better hope you guys don't play Ole Miss in the SECT. Ulis hung 14 and 14 on you. How badly do you get beaten by another PG? How do you not show respect to a guy that just blasted your team that badly? Shut up and go to class.

Simmons isn't very smart. I don't mean that as a juvenile insult; he's just not a smart guy. It shows with his work in the classroom, and it shows with the comments he made about Ulis.

Good for him that he can play basketball; otherwise it wouldn't be pretty for him.

They were talking about Ben's quote on Gameday just now, and Jay Bilas said " How do they know, they didn't guard anybody today "....... Classic !!!

Heard that and I LOL. I guess he doesn't realize that everything he says and does is under a microscope. After the gpa leak everyone was watching to see how he would react. His reaction wasn't very good.

Simmons also has like 10 less FT attempts than Murray and Ulis ... COMBINED

and today he had the same number of FT attempts as those two combined. whiney, loser, beeyatch from the land of whiney-est, bitchiest people on the globe - southern Louisiana.

Can't believe he had the stones to say that. Who did he say this to?

He's very talented but he's an average person at best. He's arrogant, didn't go to class for 2+ month stretch and cares about nothing but himself and his numbers.

LSU wouldn't certify him to be eligible for the Wooden Award. That should tell you all you need to know.

then how could he even be eligible to play

If it's true that Simmons said this, he's a fool. If you want to make a comment like that, at least not let the kid put up monster stats during the game you play against him. What a joke. Ulis is 5'9 and destroyed Simmons and the entire Lsu roster. The sad thing is, most players with the talent this kid has wouldn't be cool with losing so many basketball games. It seems it doesn't even bother this kid.

I think it was on the KSR post-game show, this won't be visited until after the season. He'll be found ineligible, and they'll probably be penalized. But, hes good to go right now. And Jonny Jones can't win with him. His only hope of keeping the job is winning the SECT and getting to the tourney. He sure as hell aint gonna set the best player in the country with his job on the line.

Simmons should have recieved a technical for taking his
Mouthpiece out and slamming it to the floor. That was uncalled for and gross.

I'm surprised more wasn't made of this. Humphries slams a ball in elation and we get a tech that costs us the game. Simmons slams a mouth piece (which I think everyone will agree with you; is disgusting), and nothing.

I said this another thread but it bears repeating. We should cut BS some slack. He speaks Australian, so English is his second language. English is hard.

[laughing] What a sore loser. Color me unimpressed. Yeah, he may have natural, God given talent, which makes him very good, but he has zero heart, desire, and will to win.

Not to mention a crap attitude...and with him being in a leadership position, it really rubbed off on the rest of his team too. They gave up right along with him.

How many dunks or offensive rebounds did his guy get today?

This punk ain't no Lebron. He is more Lamar Odom than Lebron, so ESPN can stop with that ****. He's also no Anthony Davis, Demarcus Cousins, John Wall or KAT either. He's just a whiny *** broke jump shot punk. Next Lebron my ***. Lebron at the same age puts LSU in the tourney, Johnny Jones or not.
He's no Lamar Odom either. Lamar took Rhode Island to the tourney.

Ulis had 14 assists and 14 points. UK blew LSU out and sent them to the NIT just like UK sent the Gators to the NIT.

Simmons comments are sour grapes. He frankly should finsh 3rd in SEC POTY behind Ulis and Murray.
Ha ha....

Because the NCAA doesn't look at in-semester grades. If he wanted to come back next year he would likely be ineligible.
Unless you are at UNC where you would take four Afam courses get straight As and get on the dean's list. At UNC you are golden.

His primary talent is being a crybaby a**hole. Tweeted out to Drake after their victory at LSU and now this whining after they had their a**es handed to them. As someone said earlier, good luck in the NIT.

If it was a foul to touch Ulis, you would think the team would have had enough sense to not touch him.

I figured Simmons would have learned that in his Philosophy class.

I didn't see his full quote posted, copied from ESPN's site

Asked why Ulis is so effective at just 5-foot-9, Simmons said: "If you touch him, it's a foul. He's crafty, he's got a lot of head fakes, he can shoot the ball outside. He's quick. Once he gets into the lane, you don't want to jump, otherwise he's going to get into your body or dish it off to one of the bigs."

On if Ulis was the best PG he's faced.

"Probably [Ole Miss guard Stefan] Moody. He's shooting from like half court. Ulis is a great player, obviously."

The full quote doesn't really sound like he is dogging Ulis. Moody hung 33 on LSU when they played; probably left an impression on Simmons. And the touch-foul comment was a little dumb, because commenting on officiating is always dumb, but it was immediately followed by compliments. YMMV.

Good point...... we should get jobs with Matt Jones...they were shocked when someone from New Zealand spoke English.

Ulis is simply more fun to watch than Simmons. And Simmons shouldn't presume after he's been thoroughly outplayed: nobody stands 10 ft away from Ulis the way UK did with Simmons. That was cold. LSU was sending 2-3 players at Ulis. Did LSU swarm Moody or did they play him straight up?

Reminds me of when Thomas Robinson pouted and said he should have been the player of the year because he was better than Anthony Davis.

He's ticked that Tyler is stealing his glory. Perhaps if actually gave a crap and played with any vague sense of enthusiasm or passion, his team wouldn't be NIT-bound. I'm so over Ben Simmons. He's incredibly talented, but he plays pretty uninspiring basketball 90% of the time and he is a massive crybaby. Good luck in the League kid...

said if you touch him it's a foul, and called Moody at Ole Miss a better PG.
Simmons went to LSU to be the center of attention.. He chose to be a loser.. He'll make more money than I ever will but he could have helped a good team win a National Championship.. He choose to loose..
