5 USC 2301

Employees should be protected against arbitrary action, personal favoritism, or coercion for partisan political purposes.

Employees should be protected against reprisal for the lawful disclosure of information which the employees reasonably believe evidences a violation of any law, rule, or regulation, or mismanagement, a gross waste of funds, an abuse of authority, or a substantial and specific danger to public health or safety.

So, members of the US Senate, attempting to coerce a federal employee for partisan political purposes is violation of law, plain and simple.

It’s funny that you read it the way you are. The reality is, the partisan political purposes to benefit the Dems might be exactly what he’s doing.

And there is nothing there about identity, he just can’t be fired or have career limiters due to whistleblowing.

... but no one in that video or I ever said it was operating in the interest of a single political party. You projected that yourself. Not everybody thinks Red v Blue.
I personally believe the CIA and FBI have blackmailed elected officials from both sides of the aisle.
They do always be on the side that pushes the war efforts though
