I just saw the SI article about momentum in the Stokes race, and it seemed spot on. I’m in Seattle, so I managed to watch some of him at Rainier Beach this year. I think it’s crucial to land him to at least show Pope can get the bluest of the blue chips, even if this class is considered weaker as a whole.

How would you handicap it because us and KU? Also, is national signing day really a big deal? Didn’t Wall commit in like early May?

Probably not a good idea to wait like Wall did. Money is being spent now. May not be much left by May.

I don’t expect him to commit on the visit so I won’t be disappointed. He has drug it out longer than any #1 I can remember. Doubt he commits on a visit. He’s gonna want some kind of elaborate ceremony. With hats and videos.

What does pope need to do to seal the deal you think? Seems like the kid is waiting for something cause what else can he negotiated $$$$ wise between the 2 programs, is he wanting to see the plan on players etc or what does pope need to do tomorrow to show this young man this is the place to be?

He wants to know who he will be playing with. At Kansas he knows TK and how he plays, he knows the freshman coming in. Kentucky has very little that is known. I think tomorrow is a day of who they are targeting and think/know they will get and how he will be used alongside those players. We will see if he likes it.

This is what the "injuries" morons don't understand. This past season may not even have been an NCAAT season if the injuries didn't force him to have tighter rotations and play Aberdeen and Oweh 35+ mins. I mean, he (the coach) still got embarrassed when all said and done, but they did play better with the tighter rotation.

Unfortunately the checkbook is the single best explanation if he’s planning on going to KU. Scare em till they pay more.

In my mind, this is why he and Rob are on campus at the same time. Rob has already verbally committed and Pope wants to show stokes who his PG will be. Just me reading tea leaves with no intel.

He’s looking fo Mo money Mo money. That’s all. Can’t really blame these kids with the way it’s setup now. I hate it with a passion it it’s all about the cash.

Still some doubt about Self actually coaching next year or else he would already be at KU. 60/40 KU. If he leaves without signing I don't like our chances.
