I truly don't understand comments like this. The young man has every right to explore his options and make the best decision for his future.

Don’t get too worked up, it’s just another way of saying, either you want to be here or you don’t. If you don’t, no problem the program is bigger than you and we will find someone else to fill that scholly.

Part of the process. I'm not gonna get sideways about any of this stuff, happy to watch it all play out until next fall.

This is only reasonable with a staff change.

"I would like to take a step back and re-evaluate Nebraska and other schools."

I thought it was weird he committed in the first place when we didn't even have a permanent coach. He had to know the odds of Mickey getting the job were slim.

Curious like op said, if this is following Mickey news. Also it totally makes sense with a new coaching staff. Wonder what stats in general are for kids to recommit to same school, after a coaching change, following de-committing.

Not much of a surprise with MJ being gone and no new WR coach having been announced yet.

LINK
Not much of a surprise. A good portion of the entire 2023 class will defect now with Mickey having been eliminated as a potential staff member. The class was average to begin with, but the very few prospects that were ultra talented will now go elsewhere. Losing Mickey will have a devastating impact on the future of entire program...regardless of what Matt Rhule will or won't do in the near-term

And thats not even mentioning the players on the current roster who were either considering a NFL career or transferring. Many current players were waiting to see what would happen to Mickey before making their decisions to stay or go...and now that's been determined...their futures have now been determined

That's not great but we still have a second chance to land him.
MJ is gone so he's gone. Doubt anyone else will be able to bring him back. I'm honestly surprised there hasn't been more decommits. Yet.

Nebraska is no longer a program that sells itself to kids, and where NE kids have grown up worshiping the program since birth. Part of the rebuild that Rhule and Co face is building that up again and getting kids to believe that they can be successful at NU and that NU can be successful. They are not in a position to adopt a "either you want to be here or you don't" approach on recruiting.

No we don’t. This is more about Ruehl than Mickey, IMHO. Or both. Same comment though… bad start to Ruehl’s attempt to put together a recruiting class. If this guy is worth a ****, is he’s worth even a FRACTION of that ridiculous contract, it’d better be STELLAR by February.

He immediately lost our most talented recruit. Bad start. Really bad start, and a really bad omen….

I have heard similar things. Wonder if we could get him on the cheap? But one of the best WR coaches we have had over that last few years.
Why do people keep on talking about cheap when it's not their money? Say it with me. Market rate.
