That tweet is dishonest as hell.

Collin was not -22 in Iowa state game, and he was not 1-7 either, so why would he think anyone should’ve made such comments? And there absolutely have been LOTS of people talking about Collin chasing NIL money, in fact far more so than there was with Jasper. The uncle claiming there have been no such comments is utter nonsense.

So I guess the 1400 other players in the portal cannot relate with their coach. Also, plenty has been said about Collin, especially if he wants 3.2 million most people completely disagree with that. It's also been pointed out both the SEC and national tournaments. It was very much a non-factor. Nobody's picking on JJ. You never adjusted to what was required of him and try to do things his own way, which didn't fit with this team. I wish him the very best and I wish his uncle would move forward because he no longer needs to prove to the world that he's an idiot. We are pretty much convinced.

I’m sorry. At this point it’s insanity. I’ve lost a lot of respect for him.

He’s only hurting his nephew. Somebody take his phone.

Yep.

Any school recruiting Jasper knows they’re inheriting pissed off T-ball uncle to cry victim and whine on social media if his nephew isn’t getting 30 minutes and 20 shots a game.

If I was Dennis, I’d tell Derrick to STFU and get off social media.

I think he was referring to Chandler being 1-7 against Santa Clara and Pope didn’t yank him, I could see how that would be frustrating to another player that gets autohooked. But fact is, Jasper hasn’t worked on his body or skills enough to be a starter or contributor right now. He could down the road but it’s gonna take a lot of hard work. There is a reason why he hardly played on the USA team and in the high school all star games. He isn’t as good as he thinks he is.

Honest question for Derrick Johnson: if Jasper is that good, then why don’t you just let his game do the talking at whatever his next destination is? Your nephew is not a typical 18-year old. He’s an 18-year old who just made more money in one year than the average American makes in 20. What in the holy hell do you or your family have to be upset about? Your nephew is RICHLY blessed, yet you are all over social media ranting like a madman. I feel like you are lacking perspective.

It’s not popes fault that Jasper struggled as a freshman, which isn’t surprising. It’s a big step to move up from high school to the college game. Jasper needs to put some time in the weight room and keep working on his game, the kid has a chance to be a good college player. Sounds to me like his family needs to stay off social media and let the kid find a new school.

lol tell me what he said was wrong? Pope is a dupe. Johnson’s uncle is a nut job and loser but he’s not wrong.
It’s kind of a dumb rant since most of the fan base can’t stand Pope . I could see if Pope had a lot of support. Most think that Jasper wasn’t good and they think the same about Pope .

Kentucky aside it’s just dumb for him to keep doing this when his Nephew is out looking for a new school . His play on the court wasn’t good so the last thing he need is some off the court family member to keep teams off of him .

He falsely suggested that Collin was -22 in the Iowa State game.

He falsely suggested that Collin shot 1-7 in the Iowa State game.

He falsely claimed nobody had made any comments about Collin chasing NIL money, when there’s actually been a TON of discussion about that here, in fact far more so than there was when Jasper entered the portal.

He suggested we said things about JJ that I never saw anybody say (for example, calling him a “bad apple”)

He implied that the lack of player retention is just a Mark Pope problem, when really it’s happening EVERYWHERE in this weird new NIL/ portal era.

All told, it was a remarkably dishonest tweet. For you to claim it was all “fact“ is laughable nonsense.

What I don't get is the majority of the fanbase understands why Jasper left and ultimately have wished him success no matter his destination. Most fans my included understand it just wasn't a good fit for whatever reason. Those reasons can be debated BUT because a small segment of the fanbase said some dumb stuff online he feels the need to continually to try and provoke the rest of the fanbase by lumping us all in the same bucket.. Doesn't seem like a smart move on his part. He's eventually gonna cause Jasper to lose goodwill of the fanbase that understands his choice to move on.

How in the hell is what he says supposedly “fact”?

He’s making up blatant lies in that tweet.
Most of these posters are constantly making things up and fabricating some fallacy until they get called out. Then they run away until the next best chance they get to throw another jab that is totally abstract. All while hoping nobody will call them on their BS. Happens on here all day, every day.

Dude needs to make an account here, would fit right in. Doing this over social media is doing him no favors. I said it in the other thread, but he really has a hard on for Chandler. He has brought him up multiple times.
Yep and NOBODY will call him what they would ABSOLUTELY call someone if the tables were turned. Just the way it is. You can read between the lines of my post.

He's probably right about Pope not connecting to players, but this guy sounds like a complete loser. If the whole family is like that, I really feel sorry for any youth coach that had to put up with that drama. I've dealt with families like that, and the best thing you can do is kick them off the team and get away from the perpetual drama. I recognized the family issue just by watching him play. It carries over to how the kids play the game. I said that even before hearing these bizarre rants from a family member. JJ plays like a guy who was always allowed and even encouraged to play "me" basketball.

This guy has the IQ of a gnat. Wow, imagine the guys upbringing to not understand how this works. He’s a child, it’s shocking. To see a family of athletes behave like this is a really bad look for the entire family and the people that raised them. Unbelievable.

Pope is clearly not the answer. Listen to him, did you see him try to show power and hit the whiteboard? Did you hear him and Mitch during that setup “those MF’s!!!” Pope is so cringe it’s insane and no players don’t respond to that. pope cannot be the coach here and should have already been fired.

But this guy is a nut.
