Good stuff. I’d think we see him on GameDay at some point this season too. Love that Cohen offered the University’s full support.

Kind of surprised he’s been called the n-word a half mile from Davis-Wade.

if he is like any other AA athletes ive been around, he probably gets called the N-word in the locker room away from coaches and during games repeatedly...just not "white nationalists" using the term.

Again, kudos to Kylin, I just hope the voters in November don’t make this a moot point. If by what ppl are saying publicly and on social media that they will be voting for the old flag holds true it’ll be close. Hopefully there is a large silent majority that coalesce around the new flag.

I'm afraid between pissed off old flag supporters and pissed off Stennis flag supporters, the new flag won't pass. Which is a shame. Really disappointed in Laurin Stennis. She's disappeared. Pretty clear that everything she said about changing the flag being the most important thing was just ********. It was all about her.

I was under the impression that the old flag is done, period. If this new one doesn't pass, then we'll continue without a flag until the state selects a flag that isn't the old flag. So knowing how truly stubborn a lot of people in this state can be over **** that doesn't matter, I expect my as-yet-born grandkids to be voting over this damn flag in 2080.

I'm a white male. Went to public school. Had probably as many or more friends of other ethnicities than my own. Very in tune with other cultures. Had several relationships with women of color. Was in music groups in which I was the only white individual in the group. Been at parties in which I was the only white individual in attendance.

All that to say this....half of mainstream America would rather see me cut my wrists and die than continue living. Middle age white guys are assumed to be evil, racist, bigoted, prejudiced, redneck, hillbilly, inbred morons.

If you don't know a person's heart, you don't know the person.

Truest statement I've seen on here in a while. It's the very reason I will never support any policies associated with this social justice crap. And the worst part of it is - I actually get along with and identify better with many minorities, than I do middle and upper class white America. But I can't get past the part of them simply wanting to eradicate me and hating me for racist reasons only.

You have to survive first.

Fair enough. And don't worry, I'm done.

My last sentence is the one that is most important, even if you think the middle paragraph is completely untrue. That is your opinion and you have a right to it.

No worries man. And I’m not flaming. I’m just looking at it from a numbers perspective. Assuming half of the country supports President Trump that leaves the entire other half. That other half is probably 33% white male, some of which are self hating so let’s say 30%. All of the non white people and women that I know don’t want me to kill myself but I grew up mostly around conservatives so let’s knock of another 15%. So we are around half of half the country. Only 25% want you to slit your wrist!
ETA: my numbers are ****, the other half is probably 20% white male so it may be 33%.

That's not how it is going to work....

You will have the option to vote yes or no on the new proposed flag. The old flag will not be an option. If a majority vote yes, its done. If a majority vote note, I think its back to the drawing board.

It comes as no shock that the folks pissed about changing the flag are ignorant about how this is going to work.

This is why the propaganda machines continue to get you angry and irrational about "social justice" and " black people hate me" and all the other stuff Fox, Qanaon, OAN, etc. spout every day. They want you to be angry so you'll keep them in power. If you are ever not angry, you'd see that you should be against the 0.1%, and stop fighting with the others in the poor and middle class.

And you just spouted propaganda for the other side. How does that benefit me (or my fellow man)? Less cops, more chaos? Blanket violence aimed at white people? Policies that kill jobs? And in actuality, the leftist side is probably best for my job specifically, not not good for the whole. It actually hurts, not helps.

At some point, you have to pick a side. I choose the righteous one.

And I just want to tell you how rich it is to see a leftist consider a conservative "angry". We aren't out rioting in the streets due to anger, pal. The shaming doesn't work anymore.

Incomes have fallen for the bottom 90% of Americans since the 1970's, while the wealth of the top 0.1% has skyrocketed, and you are angry about "angry leftists". https://www.pewsocialtrends.org/2020/01/09/trends-in-income-and-wealth-inequality/

It's ok, you cannot see the forest for the bark on the tree, just like the system wants.

Also, the GOP is no longer "Righteous", its a cult of Trump. (to prove my point, what are the 2020 GOP policy positions decided by GOP party members at the convention?)

But all I see on liberal news is how racist America is, how privileged white people are, how bigoted trump is, how terrible cops are. The left spouts more hate than anyone in this country.

Democrats stay angry, and built their platform on it.

Are you pricing income in bitcoin or something? I am really interested in how you are defining falling and/or 90% of americans. Are you looking at individuals and 90% of americans earning income in 1970 are now retired or dead?

Also, while median family is a good thing to look at, the composition of families is quite a bit different now than in the 1970's. Lots more immigrant households that tend to be lower earning and lots more single earner households because of single parent households.

It's ok, you cannot see the forest for the bark on the tree, just like the system wants.

So in response to people rioting and looting and committing arson, we're supposed to team up with teh rioters, looters, and arsonists against "the system"?

Could we maybe condemn rioting and looting and committing arson while also considering whether there are ways the "system" needs to be reformed?

Are you aware that many of the 0.1% are liberal Democrats who hate Trump? Are you aware that in this country you get 13 years of education for free? if you are in a lower income bracket, you likely can get your college paid for...

This country provides unlimited opportunity for those of ANY race or gender. Sure, there are always a$$holes that will hate you for who you are, but get over it and move on. This is what Ben Carson (raised by an illiterate single mom who made him go to the library to read) and Herman Cain (raised by a chauffeur, who told his son to be the very best at whatever he decided to do) did. For those who believe this, work hard for their education, join the workforce with a good attitude, and get up when they get knocked down, they have a much better chance at success.

Additionally, it's a team sport - the person's parents have to be engaged, push the kid to succeed, and the kid has to 'want it'.

For those crybaby's who ***** about income inequality, ***** about Trump and evil Republicans, and look for the Democrats for social justice and salvation - how has this worked out for them? The Dems don't give two 17's about lower income people - they view them as a vote every 2-4 years. I feel sorry for those who have not figured it out yet.

It's like football. Get up early every morning, get your *** in the weight room, bust your butt for the coaches, and improve yourself. If God has given you talent, you will become a contributor. If God did not, then find something to work hard at that will get you ahead in life. This is what Herschel Walker did.

It's really pretty damned simple.

By the way, all of the examples of successful African Americans that I listed above are called "Uncle Toms" by the Democratic followers. I wonder why....

I posted the link of what Pew said, try to read of sage of message boards.
the top 5% of families income has increased 85% while the middle class income had gone down. And we had immigrants before 1970.

More distracting ******** to keep the lower classes angry at **** that doesn't matter.

Condemning the rioting and looting is not what you are doing. But, whatever.

You know that most of the world has free education? Some for longer than 13 years?

I never said the democrats were innocent, but the trump party is at another level.

This country since 1968 (1990's in Mississippi) has been more equal in opportunity, before then, education, housing, and banking were not available to black and brown people like they were white people. Period. Poor white families benefited from the GI Bill and Government back mortgages that were not available to blacks until the 1970-1990's. Those government handouts created wealth for white families. Then,

It's pretty simple. It's just the American education system lied to you about it, and you still believe.

Should I cite bill gates and say "You are a lazy 17, you should be worth $100 billion, If you worked harder, and were not a lazy 17, and I know you are lazy because you a re not a $100 billionaire?" That's what your "examples are" there are always those that can overcome anything.

You don't even have to go that far. You're talking about basic freedoms that the left want to take away, the same freedoms that create the system where anyone can go out and make money. Not only does the left want to take these freedoms, they want to 17 stuff up and create chaos, and take away things from the 'white man'. Newsflash: I'm seen as the 'white man', so I am in the crosshairs. So....your talking points are moot. I like the police and want more of it. Again, basic stuff.

Quit doing that dumb **** and we can start to discuss the idiotic democrat economic strategies. Trump was literally elected because leftist policies were so stupid. He won over numerous swing states on that platform.

I'm wondering when you fools will wake up (not woke up).

Maybe you could point out where Pew said that? Doesn't appear to be on teh page you linked to, but maybe I'm just missing it. If it's a different page where it says that, maybe you could link to that page.

More distracting ******** to keep the lower classes angry at **** that doesn't matter.
I don't know. I don't think the people sobbing because they have lost their businesses are upset about **** that doesn't matter. If they put their life's work and/or life's saving into a business, I'm hesitant to tell them that doesn't matter. Especially considering many of the people that suffer from the outfall of riots, looting, and arson will be lower income, lower socioeconomic status people, it seems pretty callous to say it doesn't matter.

Condemning the rioting and looting is not what you are doing. But, whatever.
Technically, I am pointing out that it seems a little foolish to respond to people that are concerned about rioting, looting, and arson and people stoking racial hatred with a claim that they are ignoring the important stuff like other people getting rich. Even if it's correct that there is some cabal of rich people rigging the game against people, the first order of business for people at risk of violence or losing their livelihoods is the risk of violence and losing their livelihood.

You realize that the percentage of population isn't fixed? Looking at the time period Shelton referenced, the immigration population has gone from less than 5% of US population to just under 14% of the US population. https://www.migrationpolicy.org/programs/data-hub/charts/immigrant-population-over-time

That's not households, and the percent of households headed by an immigrant probably hasn't increased that much as they tend to be larger households, but that's going to show up in the data. Not a huge deal as you also get a good number of immigrants that are skilled workers and/or business owners, but immigrant households still have lower median incomes, which will put a drag on the overall household median income.
