Some good stuff.
I have noticed the Big 12 recruiting pitch.
Could work with QBs, skill players and DBs.
Big 12 is very similar to the NFL.
Reason why NFL hired one coach and are interested in three others.

WV needs to recruit whoever that fits their scheme.
Their main area should be Maryland, NJ and PA but they need to get players from wherever.

They brought a S in from Bishop Amat.
A Trinity League school. My oldest son graduate from Servite so I am familiar with the League.
Probably best high school league in the country.
Guzman should have some friends. Good way to develop ties to those schools.

West Virginia, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Maryland, D.C., New Jersey, Virginia, Kentucky, Georgia and Florida should be the recruiting focus for WVU in all sports. The transfer portal and jucos can fill gaps. However with the former Troy staff members we have now, I imagine hitting Alabama some will happen too.

NB will bring back some toughness. Play Mountaineer football not the Texas style sissie ball sucking the football life out of the Big 12-2=10.

Toughness doesn't work unless you are explosive....

Meaning you have to be great at both areas
You have to be a power running football team but you also have to be able to take plays 85 plus yards.

Ohio State and Oklahoma are probably the best at this.
Alabama with Tua is getting there.
Clemson is that team for sure.

All 4 of those teams play modern football with explosive offenses that are looking to score quickly

You cannot compete on any level unless you have an offense that can go vertical.

Reason why Jalen Hurts was benched at Alabama
Reason why Kelly Bryant was benched at Clemson.
Just look at Ohio State with Dwayne Haskins compared to JT Barrett.

Neal Brown gets this

Watch Troy actually play football.
I will give you a condensed version of the game.

Failure...

Did I say that.

Tonight at the THSCA Convention Dana made me laugh...
Think he may have helped himself by talking about Gary Patterson because for the most part Texas HS coaches don't like him
But Dana talked **** about Tom Herman and Jimbo as well.

This is about Neal Brown.

Dana did not have a team that was great in both areas.

Yes and no.
I think Dana is the type who gives up too easily.

There are things to like about him and there are things to not like about Dana.
I am not someone who lives on absolutes.

Do I think Dana is the best head coach that WV could get ..
No
Do I think that Dana is better than most of the head Coaches in football
Yes

WV needs an identity.
Dana's identity wasn't well liked.

So far I like where Neal Brown is going.
Blue collar
Playing for the state of WV
But I want to see that identity translate on the field
Dana's did.
But I think he was trying too hard to be this
Hillbilly version of Oregon that would play with their balls to the floor

He can turn that into Screwston, TX.
Dana is out there. Big personality and big balls. It fits Houston. Plus they aren't afraid to gamble and take risk.

But ultimately...

Dana would love to run the football if he found a way to really generate a power run game
He did at WV at times as well as other places.
Just wasn't there all the time.

This is my point.
Running the ball isn't as easy as some people think anymore.
Especially out of the shotgun

Dana is no longer married. Perhaps you should call him up and ask him out. You two lady's would be balling each other all night.

I'll bet all the Texas pansies are worried about NB and his coming tough Mountaineer approach. They know that woosie football can't win in anything but basement dweller video football. Come on Mountaineers...;hit in the choppers and run off the Saghorns and all the Saghorn wanna bes.
