I for one am looking forward to seeing what Shrader can do with after finally knowing he is the guy and running all week with the ones. i hope he can stay healthy through LSU and I believe he can do some good things during the other games (even Bama). Let's see if we can take some momentum back during the second half of the season and finish strong under the leadership of a premier freshman QB. Hail State.

With Shrader healthy and starting (at last), SloJo could stay at the house these last 6 games and we should still finish 6-6. I hope no one thinks that finishing 6-6 from this point should be viewed as an accomplishment by Moorhead cause it damn sure wouldn't be.

No choice in my opinion. I don't think firing Joe is a great idea. Might have to but I hate the idea of going thru it all over again. I would be a lot happier if we also saw a couple bubble screens, a few draws , maybe a few reverses Saturday. Some kind of misdirection plays. When you can't block you have to get tricky.

You can only do it if we are plumb hapless down the stretch, similar to Louisville last year. Record is secondary to this, but in general will reflect it.

I still do not see how Muschamp survived 4-8 in 2013, with a loss to Georgia Southern. It certainly proved that he would not turn it around.

We really need a 2013-Mullen type turnaround here.

I don’t see how you could possibly say winning against Ark, AC, and UM is a given at this point. Shrader or not. We will be damn lucky to win 6 games based on the evidence at hand.

That aside, of course I’m happy to see what Shrader can do and I’ll continue to support the team regardless of the scoreboard.

He still has Moorhead and Breiner coaching him. Moorhead and his coaching staff have ruined a lot of these players.

We'll be favored in all three because we have the better (albeit probably unprepared) team.

Yep. Just like we were favored against Kansas State and Tennessee.

By the way, Ole Miss can change the narrative if they play well this weekend. Some folks think they should beat A&M straight up. I don't think that game is the gimme that many thought it would be at the start of the season.

Schrader is already injured. Do you think our offensive line will keep him from getting killed against LSU and Bama? I said it in another thread. The only chance of is getting to 6 is Schrader not playing against either of those. No way he comes out healthy with the dline just teeing off on him.

Shrader starting is the only ray of sunlight in this game. Would like to see a positive performance there but still no hope of winning against LSU.

I’ll preface this by saying this is not a good thing. But I honestly would be pretty impressed with joe if we win 6 games this year. What I’ve seen the last 2 games, beating Arkansas and OM would be improvement.

Assuming LSU doesn't snap him in half, I do think he has a ton of upside.

I just know the best or second best win we've had since he was named coach was the game he stayed in the press box ** LOL

I agree. I think A&M sucks, and unfortunately, OM plays hard and they are at home.

Yea, I do think his injury risk is high given his style of play and the defenses he will face the remainder of the year. He plays with no regard for his health, that’s for sure.

I don't understand why Shrader starting is such a big deal. Y'all are just setting yourself up for more disappointment.

yeah. i think Shrader has a lot of upside and I do think our offense works better with him starting because of his talent to run, but if the play calling, strategy, discipline, and toughness get no better than it's not going to matter much. Moorhead needs to completely reevaluate his strategy if he wants to be successful with this team and Mississippi State. He should have been doing that after the first game. As i said multiple times last year and this year, the better coaches adapt and find ways that work. If your system ain't working, you better try something different. If he rolls Shrader out there and doesn't set him with plays and strategy to win, it's not going to matter if Shrader is in. right now i don't have much an issue of who the qb is as to what the strategy and system is. honestly i think if we had the right system and strategy we could be successful with most of the qb's on our roster.

Caveat. This year LSU is good enough i don't think it really matters, but as far as being competent in the game, we need to make a system, strategy, and philosophy change if Moorhead wants to be successful. He needs to learn to adapt and in a hurry. Winners don't complain. They are figure out a way to make it work. That's why i was skeptical of him all last year. That's the reason I was sold on him not being the guy after the Iowa game. He hadn't changed a thing all season.

LSU actually is not very good at rushing the passer this year according to their 247 expert. They have a lot of run stoppers on the dL but they struggle to get to the passer. Hopefully that is good news for Shrader getting snapped. We will see

LSU’s defense has given up a decent amount of points this year. They aren’t as solid as they have been in the past. Don’t get me wrong, I think we will get blown out. But I think we can score some if JM puts the offense in a better position game plan wise than he has all year. LSU will score so fast that we will get lots of possessions, and we will be playing from behind from the start. Maybe like 52-20. Sad that this kind of score would feel like progress....

I'm a fan of Shrader but I never expected him to see the field this year. Still not sure what is going on with KT.

I would suspect that had to do a lot with him hitting the portal and Moorhead being mad at him but at the same time trying to preserve his redshirt year.

Flashback:
I remember vividly waiting for a talented, tough young man name Omar Connor to overcome some horribly ****** coaching. Just couldn't do it all himself.

He did his best, bless his heart

I think it safe to assume that KT will graduate this December...

and Moorhead is trying to redshirt him. He can go in the transfer portal next spring and have a better selection of schools than had he transferred in September. More importantly, he can play immediately as a grad transfer and have two years of eligibility, like Joe Burrow.

I can see it now. Moorhead flounders the rest of the season to 4-8 and doesn't get fired or doesn't leave. KT transfers to Tulane. If Fritz is still there, he brings KT up to Starkville and slaughters us. that sounds about the right level of we are mstate.
