He’s been struggling with foul shooting and scoring, but ten rebounds, three blocks and three assists (only one turnover) are first rate.
He had more than 3 blocks too. Rutgers Statisticians need to step it up. They do a horrific job at crediting assists and blocks and it hurts our players in a national eye.
I am a huge Myles fan but he needs to step up his scoring. He has 4 points from the field in each of the last 3 games. He did better against some good big men before this and seemed to be developing a bit of a post game. Maybe he is just wearing down but I think he needs to get back closer to 8 points to take some pressure off the guards in the next few weeks.
Right. He really can't be given the ball at the end of close games. He has to develop some sort of inside shot besides the dunk. The problem is his free throws when he does get fouled. Tournament teams will exploit that if it's crunch time.
Hack a Myles will be a real thing. I’d do it.
Myles is not uncoordinated. We have a half a dozen coaches. You mean no one can teach him a softer shot & better technique. Once again, Underhanded results in a softer shot & better success. Duh!But to be honest until he can make FT’s I’d foul him every time
I was shocked to see him on the floor when we were up four in overtime
Non-shooting with 6, 7 or 8 team fouls or anytime in the endgame of a close game, yes. Otherwise he’s making 40% so you’re amassing team fouls for very little advantage. But to be honest until he can make FT’s I’d foul him every time

You’re right. It’s bizarre. He never seems to be wide right or left, it’s the wrong distance. Often by a lot.I think in a Maul a Myles scenario he'd start hitting more than 50% as he would get in a rthymn on the foul line.
Results are results, but I don't think he is far away from a 60+% shooter. He keeps missing long and short.
It also seems like his Engineering mind adjusts after his first shot and he tends to make the second one (although I’ve seen him make the first one and miss the second one badly, so who knows). You’re right. Exactly its a liability because the other team will just keep fouling him and its almost like a turnoverHe has to develop some sort of inside shot besides the dunk. The problem is his free throws when he does get fouled. Tournament teams will exploit that if it's crunch time.
If we find a consistent outside shooter, that will allow Myles, Ron, Montez to make better use of the middle. We will be very dangerous if we can get that outside shooter that forces defenses out away from the basket.Exactly. Plus his blocks seem to come at critical times to help the team.
Teams are scheming us differently - packing the middle and Myles does not seem to have as much room to operate down low. I actually see it as the opposite of what you suggest - RU has been abysmal from 3 in the last 4 games, giving our opponents more ability to stack the inside. If our guards etc can make 3's earlier in the game - it may open up the lane for more drives and scoring opportunities for Johnson.
True, but it's not something he'll come close to making especially from the left side. He needs some spin moves for easier shots and use the damn backboard. These are easy things to learn, but it helps if natural ability kicks in too. Being that big should help on the offensive end besides just rebounding. Without a 10 foot little jumper it limits your opportunities. He's got a mini-hook just has been off the last couple of weeks.
