The why of doing charitable things may be the most insignificant part of it. Whether it's for pure desire to do good, to impress a chick, to put yourself in the headlines, or because somebody you envy did it... Whatever the reason, it makes no difference. The end result of getting somebody help who desperately needs it is the only thing that matters. Like somebody said before me, the money raised will spend the same no matter why.

Helping people trumps basketball/recruiting wars. Good lord some people need some perspective.

Don't think the ones in Houston who receive assistance give a rats *** who's fundraiser the money came from. Let's not be so petty.

OMG. I'm embarrassed for some of you right now.

#PrayersAreStillWithYouTexas

Hopefully there are already people planning to raise funds for Hurricane Irma as she is about to blast Florida and South Carolina. Bless those in her path.

All of this

The people in Texas need all the help they can get. That being said the amount of moral pandering and virtue signaling in this thread is getting a little thick.
I'm just waiting for Coach K and crew to do a "We are the World" music video.

Amen. I think Joel Osteen made an appearance in this thread.

First Krzyzewski and Duke copied Cal and UK on one & done. Now I guess figuring that UK would be getting some positive press from raising money for Harvey victims, now they're copying us on this as well. I guess better late than never. Imitation is the greatest form of flattery.

Look, I'm not a fan of Krysheski or Duke, but no matter what their motivation is, it's a good thing they're doing, and it's going to help people. And that's the only thing that matters.

That's good that they did a fund raiser for people in need, but it's hard for me to say anything good about them, sorry not sorry.

I depends on what's in your heart. Are you doing it to help victims or to help yourself?

Actually I donated via UK and Cal telethon. This weekend via Church! These donations were from the heart as I can't imagine losing everything!

I sent some personal money to help the victims. Should I send Cal an apology for copying his program. The reputation of UK fans is justifiable by some of the nut jobs ITT alone. Good Grief...
