Should UK Accept An NIT Bid

I’ll say this. IF you accept you show up to legit play the tourney. Last time was a just show up for the sake of it. You either go to play ball or Otherwise, no.

This question comes up every year that it's a possibility and it's a dumb one. We will accept it.

Our coach won't care and the players won't either and some will opt out, but we will accept it. There's no question.

They'll accept. It's not even a question whether they will or won't. I highly doubt this is the last time Cal has UK in this position before he's gone. This is the state of Kentucky Basketball whether you like it or not. Just squeaking by to be Tournament eligible and bounced out in the Round of 64 or fighting for an NIT berth. We have a coach since day 1 here that would love to opt out of the SEC Tournament if that was possible so opting out of games should never be an option. If a player opts out, so long and good riddance!!!! Don't let the door hit you in the *** on the way out!

Of course, we should accept a NIT bid! As others have stated, to not accept would be classless and pretentious. Plus, it would give our returning players extra experience playing another game and playing in a tournament, which we will need for next year’s run. I cannot think of any reason we shouldn’t play in the NIT, except for a bruised ego.
