Should the football team be split up into smaller groups?

Say we get an outbreak on the team 2 weeks into the season. everyone, or more likely, entire position groups will have to be quarantined for 10 or 14 days and we likely forfeit or suspend any games we play at that time because we won't have enough bodies to fill in.

what if we have an outbreak in the qb room or wr room or o line room? that could devastate the entire chances of winning anything. same applies for other teams.

if we split up starters from non-starters, if the starters get exposed, we have capable replacements to fill in with the second team.

seems like a reasonable mitigation response so that WHEN the outbreak occurs, we limit its ability to devastate the team. is that something we are doing or should consider doing and the league needs to consider?

Ive seen many schools splitting QB rooms at minimum with that being such a premium and difficult position to replace. Doing two a day split style practices would seemingly be a good idea
