Given how precarious things tend to be as far as football conferences I don't think it would be a good idea to recommend tossing anyone out of the Big 12... especially if there isn't a good alternative to replace them with.

Who would we go for? Houston? SMU? Maybe go west and recruit Boise State or Fresno State and give WVU even worse travel issues. Try to open up Florida to be recruited by the likes of Kansas, Kansas St. and Iowa by bringing in UCF or South Florida?

In none of those scenarios are we bringing in a program that will add more to the conference and before anyone goes on about poaching someone from one of the other Power 5 bear in mind that the SEC, Big10, and Pac-12 all have members that one time or another belonged to the Big 12. If any of the leagues looks to have members that are poachable it would be the Big12.

No they should not be kicked out. Anyone can come up with some metric to exclude someone from something .

Have you seen the table...
Tech has been close in basketball and baseball. Especially last year
Might break through in one of these sports.

If anything the B12 needs to look at grabbing teams instead of losing them. They need to make a play for Utah, Colorado and both AZ schools when tv contract negotiations come back up.

The Big 12 is in wait and see.
"The conference" is happy where it is at and truthfully is not making any long term plans.
Individual teams are.

Kansas has been talking with Nebraska and Nebraska is trying to get Oklahoma and Kansas into the B1G
The B1G wants Texas and Oklahoma
Oklahoma continues to flirt with the SEC
Texas has all the pieces left on the table and will make the decision based on what happens with the ACC Network.

The PAC 12 as a whole is weak. Do not want a bunch of Western schools unless you have a National auidence.
USC can sell.
But more across the United States than on the West Coast.

I speak with Berry Tramel from time to time and he has always said that Oklahoma will stay put or go to the P12 because they don’t need to live off someone else like an Iowa State does via association and OU will go where it has the best chance to win championships. If they joined the P12 today, they would be the big dog in the yard. In the SEC or B10, they are Penn State or Auburn, not Bama or Ohio State.

Both the B1G and PAC XII give Oklahoma academic standing
David Boren may have retired but OU still wants to be a AAU school.
They pretty much have every criteria met
The B1G helps because of Penn St.
The B1G shares academic research and Oklahoma's meteorology school would be equal to Penn St's. As they are #1 and #2 in the field.
