Nothing about last night was surprising. The talent differential is too much for any sane fan to overlook. This program has 3-5 years of solid recruiting and player development ahead to reach the level of OSU. Mike Riley left this program in shambles. Callahan at least recruited well and Pelini kept us in a solid position, but Riley's aftereffects are still being felt. It was like 3 years of almost no starting talent that remains in the program.
My biggest complaint was that this was a night game. The players came out emotionally jacked only to get steamrolled and then lost composure. It was like watching one of those old Mike Tyson bouts with the challenger getting hyped up then KOed in 20 seconds. An earlier start and less media exposure would have kept the players better composed.
