I'm old enough to remember being highly disappointed when my JV basketball team was passed out canvas Converse Chuck's as our team shoe when leather was considered cool. Now I see kids walking around all the time thinking they are looking cool in their canvas Chuck's because it is in now. Times change, fashion changes, and we all age a little every day.....such is life.
We must be close to the same age.

When I went out for JV, we had to buy our own shoes. Canvas Chuck Taylor's were $12, IIRC. We were very poor and my Mom said "no way"! I ended up with a $4 pair of sneakers, where the soles were slick as sht that she bought on credit and made me pay for by mowing lawns.

For those that have no idea what they are talking about, those are a pair of shoes. He is not wearing 2 separate shoes, that is how those are sold. It part of the Nike collection.

Just because you wouldn't wear them doesn't make it stupid.....I have young grand daughters that wear mismatched socks......they have since they were little.....I would feel like a clown wearing apparel like that.....the only thing I can see that is stupid is your comment......because you don't agree with something doesn't make it stupid........this attitude is the reason that we are a divided country......the old "my way or the highway"........

No we are a divided country because one party doesn’t know how to accept an election loss. Accepting a certain look or not accepting a certain look has nothing to do with that and it’s not about acceptance anyway but personal preference. People can wear what they want but I reserve the right to think if they look stupid or not wearing it. My own personal opinion and I’m sure I might wear something that someone else seems stupid looking, again their own personal opinion and I don’t care because my feelings don’t get hurt if someone doesn’t like something I say or do.

I'm not a big fan of the different colored shoes. Looks like they were in a hurry and the lights were off and they just grabbed the first left and right shoe they could feel. I'm also not a fan of my 13 year old daughter wearing mismatched socks. I think I have a little OCD and things not matching don't feel right to me. I'm not wearing them though and my opinion means nothing.

Maybe I’m old but when did it become cool to wear 2 different colored shoes ?
And when did it become cool for teams not to wear the same color shoes? Most teams look like they got their shoes at a goodwill store taking what was available.

Totally agree. Wish Republicans would get over Obama winning the 2008 and 2012 elections and get back to being a party of conservatives that actually had an ideology other than whatever Trump, Rush, or Hannity tells them to think.

Those shoes look silly to me, but I'm old and have no clue about what is fashionable for college kids. I'm guessing the players like wearing these mismatched shoes to express some individuality while being required to wear the same uni as teammates. If the players enjoy wearing some funky looking shoes, then they should be allowed to have fun with it.

Nope. They are a pair sold like that. Just giving you hard time on old man comment though!
I’m just wondering? I have 4 teenagers that apparently know more than me but they don’t wear these nor does anyone at their school

I've got to ask....Does UK provide the shoes or do the kids get a "shoe allowance" and are allowed to get whatever they want?

In my day everyone wore the same shoe.

I'm Libertarian, but maybe Dems should get over the hanging chad as well. Trump got votes from the majority of people disenfranchised by both parties digging into their fringe base instead of being centrist with a centrist, clear message.

The clown shoes say "look at me". Well, that's fine if you're getting 25 and 12 a night. Cal has proven over and over, if you buy into the team first, you'll get yours. You can be you 95% of the week, but when you step on the court, you're representing the University of Kentucky, not your hopeful future brand.

Look good, Feel Good. I say let them wear what they want to wear. Trust me when I say...These guys aren't choosing a pair of shoes based upon what a 70-150 year old blue hair thinks sittin in lower rupp crocheting their great grandchild a sweater...
