I really can't say how shocked I am that the clarion liar has taken the stance that nothing happened here. Their headlines and stories are straight from the UM sports marketing guys mouth. The narrative has been, since the story dropped as follows.
1. Hugh's players and Sean Taco still love him. Oh and briarcrest stuff isn't true, we asked one person and they said no.
2. Nanny nanny boo boo - the NCAAs gonna ask LL to come to the principles office
3. Here's the booster list, and oh, one of them had Jack to do with LL....

And then there's Godfrey... discuss. Maybe I'm crazy.

Calm down. The fact of the matter is that the Clarion Ledger doesn't matter when it comes to this investigation. The national writers and publications (USA Today, SI, Yahoo) are all over it, and they aren't cutting Hugh or the Rebs any slack. At this point, who really cares what the CL has to say about it?

I'm glad they validated what many of us have said all along. They are an Ole Miss publication. No one can argue that now.

Not a conspiracy any longer.

Every time the "look what the C-L said" posts pop up and people are mad...

I shake my head in that someone is either giving them clicks or cutting them a check. Everyone knows what side they sit on. Why go see what they publish?? People who will get angry about t bias and incompetence of the C-L should be silent about what is published in it. Why? Because you shouldn't be reading it. Don't give them clicks and don't subscribe. Let them die the same death of most all other print media.

If you pay them them for a subscription online or in print... don't complain. If you don't subscribe but read to see what they are saying and it makes you mad.. don't read it.

There is a classification of mental illness for people that like to injure themselves and MSU fans that read the C-L have a mild case of it. There are many reasons I don't go home and hammer my wang on the kitchen island with a meat tenderizer but the fact it would hurt is reason number one. I also do not read the C-L because I know it is biased and it would piss me off. Same thing.

Don't forget that, back during the Civil Rights Era, the Mississippi media....

...covered things up as well. When any Civil Rights news would be on the Nightly news, the Jackson TV stations would black them out. The clarion-Ledger was in the back pocket of the Sovereignty Commission.

New Century, same coverup.

Amen. They have taken a stance. A stance that has propelled Rosebowl and others to an elevated level of journalistic respect that might not exist if clarion ledger had stiff armed the ******** and done their job, but too late now. Hell with em. They've dug their own grave.

The clarion ledger has chosen a path and that is one that makes it largely irrelevant in many matters and alienated the largest banbase in the state. Not a great business plan

It would be interesting to see what would be turned up if Hugh Kellenberger's or Sam Hall's financial records were ever subpoenaed.

Just another Rebel Rag.
"Definition II 7a in the OED says rag is colloquial for: A newspaper or magazine, esp. one regarded as inferior or worthless, ... which some see as a lower form of journalism."
