I saw on Twitter, LeBron James is praising Coach K saying stuff along the lines, “Coach K is spot on, He is The Best Ever, hope he is still around when my boy comes up!” In reference to Coach K’s comments last night.

I did for a long time before I got the nerve to start posting and look what kind of monster was created.I don't think that Coach K lurks here but it is highly possible that someone in the inner circle let him know what is going on and even though the players are probably encouraged to stay away from message boards they are still human. When I 1st. started posting Heyman25 told me to stay away from thr. Don't even look at what they post about. Curiosity got the est of me and I lurked and eventually posted. They chewed me up and spit me out. I feel sure that our players are ask not to visit message boards but being human I'm sure they do. We might be surprised as to who checks us out.
Now I have to share this.Here's what happened. During unc'c NIT season I had a thing going where I made fun of hof coach roy williams' ugly ties. Every game I would make fun of the tie he was wearing. Some of you log time posters may remember. It's been several seasons back. hof coach roy williams was having a presser after another loss and he was in rare form. He was pissed and made the comment about he didn't care that certain fans made fun of his ugly ties. Now was it a coincidence? Did he actually check out our board? I don't know but he didn't like the idea of someone making fun of those butt ugly ties he wears. Point of story we don't know who reads our post. It may be recruits or current players. It's a free board. I just think even though we are all entitled to our opinion we must be careful. Once we post it's there even though we may have second thoughts and go back and delete it someone has read it. I've deleted a lot of post and maybe this is one that I should have never posted but here it is. OFC

There is no doubt that people at Duke read these boards. There’s also no doubt that family members of players (and potential recruits) also read some of the boards. Another board where I was a longtime member had folks on staff and players parents as members.
Now, I don’t think these people are posting or checking multiple times per day like many of us, but you’d have to be pretty naive to think they’re not reading at times. I think Coach K’s comments clearly show they’re aware of some of the stuff that gets said. And by no means am I saying just here.
Hard for me to see that. If I was a player/ parent/“people at duke”/ coach whatever i would check and see what people are saying on the main social media stuff like Twitter, Facebook, ESPN, TV. I wouldn’t go as far as digging in these message boards though. But (I) ain’t everybody I guess

I think of McBob and Rivers when I think of "hero ball" in a Duke uniform. In both of those cases, we didn't really have much of a choice, so not necessarily some kind of character flaw.
I do wish RJ would cut out the most difficult 20% of his shot attempts (I could say the same for Reddish), but he is certainly playing to win and is not ignoring his teammates. RJ had a few bad possessions at the most tense moment of the season; so those brief actions are amplified in the minds of Duke nation.

We fans only see the games and don't know what's going on behind the scenes in practice or in the locker room. I definitely felt that with both the Rivers and McRoberts teams there was a division on the team. Paulus liked McRoberts and ignored others on the court, and Seth Curry and Rivers didn't seem to like each other or want to share the ball. The result of the Curry/Rivers rift was that Plumlee II has a perfect night from the field vs. Lehigh but gets exactly 7 shots total because Curry and Rivers were more interested in getting theirs.That was disgraceful.

I have no problem with everything Coach K said concerning the media and fans ripping his kids. Before we played Gonzaga, the talking heads had Duke hyped up so high that they said the Cleveland Cavaliers would lose to Duke.
They got everyone so stoked on this team. Turn on espn, there they were. Former pro players slobbering all over Duke. As soon as we lost, some idiot fans who had bought the hype, rip one of his players. Rip them K, I totally get it. But it may have helped a little if he had asked everyone to pump the brakes a little BEFORE we lost our first game. After all, they're just kids, and were bound to lose a game sooner or later.

Not sure that this a message board problem only. I was in the student section at the Duke vs Indiana game. On multiple occasions when RJ would drive I heard quite a few crazies yelling "pass the ball." When he fouled out I even heard two young men shouting around "it's ok we are better team with out him".

Unfortunately,every time he misses a shot this year we will probably hear that he should have passed the ball.

RJ creates more with the ball. I have no problem with that shot ratio. Would like to see RJ’s efficiency up, and I think that will come. This team needs ALPHA RJ. Not second fiddle RJ
I would not characterize all of Zion’s 90 scoring events as “shots”. More then a few would better described as violently ramming a ball through a hoop.
And joking aside that’s kind of the point. RJ is more of a well rounded scorer. He can score from all over the floor. Zion is straight attack or maybe a spot up 3. Completely different games and they compliment each other very well. Zion was always going to be more efficient because of how they both play.
RJ has a better shooting game against IU. He was 9-18 with 9 rebounds. That’s a solid game. But a game where he goes 9-25 will bring a little flack, especially when one of his running mates is much more efficient, and the most dominant person on the court. I don’t care if they happen to be dunks.

Still its not only Duke fans. He could have just said some of our fans. However here is the real point: K should have slowed down the train with a sermon about mammoth expectations in the preseason....it got way out of hand w/pundits saying we could beat a pro team...
Part of the venting however, came from the Maui loss. He said fouls should have been called at end of Zags game, so there was some bitterness built in. I do agree fouls went uncalled however.
