He is a very heady guard.
I love both. Both will be huge for us this year. Dilly has been hampered by fouls for two games now.
As weird as this sounds…Dilly has got to tighten his handle up! He’s playing too loose with the ball. He is a special player but he needs a minute for it to click.
Both kids will be important this year. Both can flourish.
Dilly dances a bit too much. He needs to make his move and get to the rim or into his shot.
That said I think Dilly is going to be the grower by SEC play he may be a beast.

Love Dilly, but would much rather have the ball in Shep’s hands running offense. He’s most definitely gonna make smarter decisions with the ball.
This is where that basketball IQ comes in. Sheppard understands the game better so he can read what's happening quicker than Dillingham which makes up for the quickness and speed advantage Dillingham has over Reed.
Good problem to have with ouar guards.

Dilly just needs some time. Playing AAU ball. Talented but raw. Classic Cal recruit.
I agree . Some of his dribbling isn’t helping him get past his man . That’s my only complaint so far because his decision making has been solid .
Dilly is also gonna have to find some finesse when trying the off balance lay ups too. Especially when he’s using the bank. He has a tendency to miss very hard.
I like having both but Sheppard has been way steadier on both ends of the court. Really good things happen with Reed in the lineup. Going to hard to keep him off the court.
Dillingham is gonna have a hard time getting minutes I think. Sheppard and Wagner seems to be the backcourt. Then you have Edwards too. I don't see where Dillingham fits tbh.
Shepherd is a difference maker. He’s going to push the other guards to be better. We are very fortunate. The back Court is loaded and could be a thing of beauty. Little worried about the situation with the bigs but as this trip has shown, we can be productive without the traditional big man on the floor with this squad so I say go ball out and get it damn done. This team has me fired up. And it’s been a long time since I could say that.
Dilly is just very raw at this point. He might be the most talented player on the team. However, is is easily the most raw. At this point Reed is a much more complete and developed player and not sure it's close.
I get what you're saying but I'm not going to worry about the bigs till I see the two centers.
I mean right now if there's two minutes to go in March you would think Mitchell, Wagner, Reed and Reeves would be 4 of the 5 out there. The only question is would Bradshaw be out there or Edwards for the final spot.
I believe all the guards will get minutes . Hell they have to . You don’t want guys playing too many minutes and tired down the stretch.

Wagner > Shep. See how dumb that is. We don’t have to have compare our team vs our team. Let’s compare them to other teams.
I believe, and after today Cal believes, there are 2 players who must be on the floor at crunch time and those are Shep and Reeves. Might add Wagner as a third and Mitchell as 4th.

I like Dilly but Sheps a much better and well rounded player. Shep, DJ and Reeves all need to be out there together most of the time.
Stop it dude. Don’t ruin this for everyone. DJ is this teams #1 option and will be all year.
Hopefully you won't get crucified like I was for suggesting the game is still a little ok fast for Dilly right now.
Both will be valuable. Most impressed (thus far) with Shep. His defense play has really surprised me. How many jump shots has he blocked so far? Damn. Also surprised DJ hitting from deep more consistently & his floaters seem very sweet. Dilly will impress in his own way imo. Just give it a lil time.
Nice problems to have for certain. Add a returning Reeves, Edwards (good stroke today) & an impressive transfer in the post that can step out and hit from deep and every spot is very capable on many different levels.

They get their enjoyment when they can be negative and try to make others unhappy.
He will be the most improved over the year and you can’t stop his play like that IMO. It’s why he’s so good, he has that creativity on the court. If you don’t harness that he won’t play up to his capability.
Dillingham can run the second unit easy at the very least and that’s a great problem to have.
The issue is it's College.... the lack of spacing kills the type of game he has in my opinion.
Unless he's Kemba 2.0 I don't think I recall many herky jerky type games killing it in college.
