Shelby needs a 2017 game

Why, because they're in Virginia? Since when is the state of Virginia considered a football powerhouse? We blew Bishop Sullivan off the field in the Cam Newton 7 on 7 tournament, we're the ones who eliminated them in that tournament. Please believe they got an up close and personal look at our athletes. Plus, their best player is a Shelby product.

That's what it look like to most people seem like they don't want to spend any money to bring good teams to Shelby.
One thing about Bishop Sullivan coach and AD is that they will play anybody at home or on the road Shelby on the other hand won't and they are cheap. You have a 7,000 seat stadium and you bring in at least $20,000 or more per home game. I very disappointed in them with their history they should play anybody in the country.
Why should Shelby play anyone in the country... so they can be ranked nationally by some poll? Or maybe so if they lose everybody can tell them how bad they are as they drag the rest of 2a through the mud? Or if they win all the naysayers can say "well that isn't even their best team that Shelby played, they should have played them last year". I'm with Shelby on this one, why pay to play someone when teams will surely play them for free.
Great point, dplubo! Why play with somebody else when you enjoy playing with yourself? BTW, those Lions are about to be drug in the mud, soon!
If Shelby played Q Foundation I expect it would possibly be the smallest crowd of the season. Q is not bringing anyone and the average fan probably will not be too excited. If they have 5,000 fans pay that is $30k. If they bring in a very strong regional team they may get 7,000 paying fans at the game there will be more interest for a strong opponent and interesting game. The gate is $42k and the concessions are probably $5-10k more. Pay that team $10k and you are making more than you are against a very weak opponent that will not draw. It does not need to be a nationally elite team but a very solid squad from SC or a very strong 3A or deep playoff run 4A team from NC. I would love to see Shelby play Charlotte Christian or whatever the top Big 4 private is, Catholic, Dudley, or a team from the Spartanburg to Gaffney area of SC. Would be a strong gate and good competition for both teams.

Of course, I was joking about the Q Foundation. I'd be up for playing anyone within 2 hours of Shelby that had an open date. One of the big Charlotte teams or Gaffney would be fun.
If Shelby needs an extra game, just split the team into Gold (1st O/2nd D) and Black (2nd O/ 1st D) teams and have them play one another.
I mean, since Shelby has no competition and all, it's only logical they play with themselves.

Okay, okay, I walked right into that one! From one State Champion to another, this year's game will be huuuuuuge! No excuses!!
I thought we had like the toughest 2A schedule last year.We played 11 3A teams,some being champions,some being former champions,and some being future 3A champions.
I am well aware you were joking but when it gets down to a school has no one to play they will often take any offers to get the gate. Not saying Shelby would and only used the Q as an example. A .500% 3A team from an hour away would be the same thing except they would bring a slightly larger following.
Crest and Shelby just play twice. First game of the year and last game of the year. 
How come they are still looking for games for the upcoming season if teams will play them for free? Spend some of that money Shelby and bring in some good teams to play not some cup cake. Gaffey need some game this upcoming season.
Gaffney or south pointe(rock hill).....wouldn't mind playing Dillon either

LOL.After my recount I came up with Shelby playing 9 3A schools in 2016.
Especially for Cleveland County folks! The highest number they know is 32. The number of teeth they are supposed to have but rarely reach.
Well, first of all, I have little OFF nothing. Secondly, if a mighty Red Raider loses a tooth by knocking the crap out of a Lion, he does not require an IV or being spoon fed with tapioca. He will still have 30 or more teeth to give up for the next victory. Toothless Lions? So redundant!

Fact 1, Shelby High School is a monopoly. District lines run through that town like the path of a drunken sailor. Yes rev is right! 4a talent carved out a commisioner at a time.
Fact 2, Crest built a program - to their credit - despite the uneven playground. Now, no Red Raider will back me up on that, but it happened. Those loveable losers at Crest rose up against all odds and continue to stick it in your ear!
Fact 3, Everyone respects you and loves playing you, but does not fear you. For all the hype and advantages, you are an undisciplined lot living on an unfair play ground beating your chests and riding your advantage.
Fact 4, You are getting your collective asses whooped next year because the playground just got leveled and the realization of that is going to be epic.
Fact 5, Game 11 will be more embarrassing to you than your annual loss to the team that brought themselves up from their boot straps, even if they had help from Burns citizens.
Last fact this post, This is the last time I will ever say anything nice about Crest! Except this, at least they'll play us!

A SP fan IQ is usually equal or slightly greater than a Crest fan IQ. It may be due to moving their house from one lot to another. I heard it can be a bumpy ride.
