Bill, Timmy Hennessey was after my time but a helluva great kid and wrestler.A Jefferson product if I remember correctly. He Fred Goldbach and McHugh were great recruits from Sach. I was almost certain one of them would AA. McHugh had a very tough weight class that year. I think he ran into Jim Martin from Penn State at the Stroudsburg tournament and got pretty roughed up. I remember when Rutgers Newark had a team.They had some tough dudes for a division 3 squad. I went to the Trenton State tournament in I think 1988 or 89? I forget( I was friends with Pete Gonzalez from Montclair State and wanted to see him Wrestle). I saw this big Italian looking kid at heavyweight for Rutgers Newark go out and dismantle the Rider heavyweight who was ranked in the top 10.He then majored the Seton Hall heavyweight who was the returning Catholic College National Champ and ranked 5th.He then met Wayne Catan in the Semis and took him into 2 overtime before loosing on locked hands call. I struck up a conversation with some of the Rutgers Newark guys.Some guys named Kurt and Donnie and they told me that heavyweight kid only took 2nd in his district and never made it to the states.I couldn't believe what I was hearing. They said a couple weeks before ( because I wasnt there) that he made if to Stroudsburg tournamnent semis, pinning the 14th ranked kid from George Mason, tech'd the Army heavyweight, making it to the semis, where he met 3 AA Andy Voight who bumped up to heavyweight from 190.Apparently Voight got called for stalling twice. They went into overtime and again this kid locked hands and lost by one point. This kid was brutal.Not a technician by any stretch, but extremely physical and great motor. He took it too Catan and gassed him out. His first named began with a C. Charlie, Carl or Chris, I forget. Driving me crazy that I don't remember his name. I was gonna go back to Sach and tell him to grab this kid, and have him inter campus transfer, because Getz was long gone and the heavyweight at the time was not cutting it. Their team was small, but they had some scrappers.

Let's get a couple things straight. I commented how poorly aragona and the van brills were doing at the Rider match. I wasn't the only one. Then their fathers got on here making threats. So I started joking around with them telling them that I was right up the street when I was actually in colorado. Then tenth year senior janzer got on here , trying to play tough guy. People only get mad when they know other people are right. As far as hard work. Yes,I will say the van brill's worked their *** off in the room. I was actually one of their biggest fans and probably got more upset with them performing poorly. Maybe I should have rephrased it differently. But to sit there and malign my career that's a different story. Not one of those people came any near close to what I achieved. From a tough guy perspective, i'm certainly not afraid of any of them as I could easily take them down, even at my age. You're not too tough when you have someone on top of you. Regarding aragona,he knowingly dicked our program around. From what I recall, they passed up on a solid recruit to keep him on scholarship. Then he leaves the program and goes and shacks up with his girlfriend at third rate campbell. But that was the constant with our program.And it was getting aggravating.Winston,Mason, Camp, and that black kid from Bound Brook ( forgot his name). Year after year we had goodie putting good faith into these kids and them.Just floundering. But not just floundering sacrificing the integrity of the program at the same time. When I wrestled we had nothing.
