If you get bored building statues to the next Great Devaney Osborne successor, head over to the Texas Shaggytexas site. Tim Beck is being compared to his predecessor Shawn Watson and the conclusion is both of them should be doing something they can handle like selling used cars. I guess the Bo Coaching Tree needs a little fertilizer.

Based on what we have seen at many points this season on offense, I believe Husker fans would take Watson and Beck back in a heartbeat.

Watson? No way.

Beck? Eh, his offense was decent... to a point. Good enough that it put up more points than this damn pro-style offense we are running now!

I used to be on the bandwagon that we needed a QB that was a QB, not a RB playing the QB position.

Not completely flip-flopping, but that QB playing QB better be able to move around and run!

At least TA and TMart made things happen with their feet, sometimes enough to compensate for their lack of passing ability.

Beck's passing game wasn't quite good enough... a good D could make his offense one-dimensional by loading the box. At that point, his passing schemes could not make the defenses unload the box so we could get the offense balanced back out.The receivers were not open enough and when they were, the QB could not pass accurately enough.

I would take Beck all day over Langs. Beck had his flaws, but knew how to step on the throat. I am entirely convinced that Langsdorf is most comfortable playing from behind, so it's a no brainer to pass 80% of the time. The dude has no clue how to call an offense with a lead (rare, i know).
