1. It was always a joke people were "don't blame the kid...it's his handler"....bullcrap. He was always old enough to make the decison.
2. He said it out of his own mouth.

So quit hammering on fans that call the kid for what he always was....a me only type of person and fans have every right to hammer him for his character issues.
His only character issue is an absolute lack of one.

I’m no fan of Sharpe’s but to me this part is just business. Agent probably told him to say it. They want to put to bed any worries he was pushed around by handlers.

If you can be pushed around off court you can be pushed around on court.

He’s managed to carefully create the image of an amazingly talented player without setting foot on the floor in-game. After that, creating the image of a dog without really having done anything but lick his handlers’ boots is small potatoes.

Once again, the guy who is paid extremely well to run this program LET HIM GET AWAY WITH IT.
That is where my ire continues to be directed. Sharpe couldn't have done this without Cal's complicity.
Exactly. Play or bye. It's really that simple and at the end of the day Sharpe, that decision was Cals. Cal the coward abdicated.

They intentionally want him to seem like he only cares about himself and not his team? Wow.

We(fans) don’t like him due to all the lies and charade. Now that he’s had months of rightfully being beaten up by us, he no longer likes us or values his time here. Fine with me.

Extremely gifted basketball player that chose not to risk his upcoming payday. Never gave anything to the university so I don’t have any rooting interest in him.

Him and his camp chose the lying, deceptive path to get to this point and thus deserve the continual backlash from us for doing so, especially given he never needed to come here to be draft eligible.

Where did he say he no longer likes UK?

Dude said he has no regrets not playing for UK and it was his decision... Said he's getting drafted so it's turned out pretty well.

His name should never be affiliated again with Kentucky!!!
When you attend a school on an Athletic Scholarship then decline to participate that's stealing. When you have no regrets or can't see that you did anything wrong that shows a complete lack of character..

It'll be interesting to see what NBA team rewards him anyway or if he gets passed on and goes later than anticipated..

With his attitude he couldn't be a good teammate.

Why don’t you stay on the kiddie end of the reasoning pool.
You're the one who's off here brother. Why would he need to show that he was in control of a controversial decision? Nearly all kids say they sit down with coaches, parents, blah, blah and come to a consensus. Nope, you think this guy NEEDS to show he's in charge. It's the dead wrong approach. He looks like an ***.

Try telling @BlueSince92 that. He thinks being in control of that bad decision is a good look for the kid.

Interesting that KSR didn't run this article, even though it was written by it's parent-company On3. I mean, not really surprising they didn't - in a way, but still...

Pistons fan here. Not as big of a fan as I used to be, but still a fan. Other Piston fans want UK to draft this kid. He’s the absolute last guy I want at #5 because of not wanting to compete at UK last season. He will be just another talented kid going through the motions in the NBA.

Crossing my fingers that Detroit takes Ivey over Sharpe.
