I would take O'Neal over EJ just for the fact of the good publicity we would get having Shaq associated with our program. I would take them both though if we have the scholarships available. I'd rather have to many players than get caught short-handed from a couple of injuries like earlier this year.

Good grief, i think LSU had proven they have ZERO ability to coach high level talent. Ask Ben how that went.
You mean Ben Simmons, First draft pick in 2016. They have a new coach in Wade his first year. In my post said that with waters Shareef has someone who can make him better. I would love for him to come to UK, just discussing it.

Some will pooh pooh it but SKJ looked pretty unhappy on the bench late in a 20+ point blowout. Could hardly crack a smile when Brad made the 3.

Likely he'll get over it but it did seem strange regulars played almost to the end. OTOH there aren't but 9 guys anyway. Some have to keep playing.

I'd like to get both. Not feeling very optimistic about only having Nick and SKJ next season. This late into this season and we basically get nothing from either of them.

UK won't offer him if they think they can get EJ IMO . But regardless EJ is the important recruit. O'neal is alot like SKJ IMO but slightly better .That isn't a bad thing as SKJ is a good back up who could become a good player by his senior year but EJ is stud and a top 12 recruit. He is the best big man left and regardless is a top 4 big in HS ( If you don't count Zion as a big ) .

O'neal is 6'8 and tries to play more like a 3/4 instead of a 5. Skj is a 4/5 and is 6'11. EJ seems to play a 3/4 in high school and definitely in AAU, but I can see him playing a 4 or 5 in college. I agree, UK will wait on EJ. EJ would help instantly next year. O'neal would need some work.

Shareef looks a lot like a slightly taller slightly better shooting PJ in his newest highlights. Kid has game and is starting to fill out and bulk up. I’m sure his upside is huge.

If Tai is gone, UK is down to 10 players on schollie. 3 are already signed so that puts UK at the limit. Knox is likely gone, so that would open up one more. If another player were to leave that would leave 2 spots.
If Wiseman reclasses he gets a spot regardless, SO I would say, purely speculating, that it would come down to whoever commits between EJ or Shareef first if either is seriously interested in UK.

I keep reading on this board that Wiseman is likely headed to UK as a re-classifier. If that's true, then we need 3 more scholarships to accommodate O'Neill, Wiseman and Montgomery. Wynyard, Knox and (I hope not) SGA would open up 3 more. I think Wenyen and Hami go somewhere else and Brad could walk on because it isn't as though he would have a pressing financial need. That would create 3 more openings. Why couldn't we have room for all 3, assuming they all choose UK?

We need both. This is not an either/or type of recruiting situation. Knox will leave for the draft. Wynyard is probably gone. SKJ is looking more and more like a failing project. Among our baseline players, that just leaves Richards, Gabriel, Vanderbilt. If Vanderbilt keeps playing like he has played for the last 2 weeks, he may be playing his way into the draft. To date, there are no bigs in UK's signing class. Calipari has roster room and a clear need for at least a couple more bigs. We could really use another wing guard too.

I’d take O’Neil now. If Montgomery picks us great. I trust Cal and believe he will the right thing. Our coaching staff knows where he’s leaning. I’m a little concerned that Duke or UNC will be his choice. Why? We got to the party late.

Since Cal arrived at UK, there have always been players that have declared, even though they probably were not ready. So, it is very likely more than just Knox will be declaring. If not declaring, then transferring.
